00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin. Two teenagers have been arrested in connection
00:05with a collision in Chesterfield which left a woman in hospital with serious injuries.
00:10The incident occurred in Poolsbrook Country Park at around 7.20pm on April 15th when an
00:16off-road motorbike collided with a woman jogging in the park. A Derbyshire police spokesperson said
00:21the rider then left the scene. The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
00:26Two 15-year-old boys were arrested on April 29th on suspicion of causing serious injury by
00:33dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license and using a vehicle
00:37without a license. They have both been bailed as investigations continue. Sergeant Rachel Kent
00:44of the local Safer Neighbourhood team added, We want to be clear that the dangerous and
00:48illegal use of off-road bikes will not be tolerated. We are working hard with partners to tackle
00:53this issue and make our communities safe and enjoyable for all. Our message is simple – if
00:59you are riding illegally and irresponsibly, there will be consequences.
01:05Plans to turn a pub into a shop on what is said to be one of Derbyshire's worst congestion
01:09hotspots look set to be approved. The project, managed by David Swan Architect, would see
01:15the former Bull's Head pub in Little Hallam Hill, Ilkeston turn into a convenience store with
01:19five flats. Erewash Borough Council officers have recommended that the plans are approved
01:24at a meeting next week, following a deferral from councillors in February for more talks.
01:29It comes despite concerns raised over traffic safety and congestion issues around the site.
