00:00Well, the Prime Minister has delivered his final set-piece speech of the campaign here
00:06at the National Press Club, and this was a classic stump speech.
00:10Anthony Albanese reminding voters of the cost of living relief his government has delivered
00:14over the past three years, and listing off the promises and the policies that Labor has
00:20put on the table for the next three years.
00:23Interestingly, as he's done before, Mr Albanese also placed a great deal of emphasis on stability
00:29and trying to contrast with that opponent who he thinks is unpredictable.
00:33A vote for Labor means the certainty of Medicare, the security of being able to see a GP when
00:43and where you need it without worrying about whether you can afford it.
00:47A vote for Labor means you can be certain that childcare and early education will be more
00:54affordable for your family.
00:57You can be certain that your child and their school will get the full and fair funding
01:02they need to be their very best, public and private.
01:07You can be certain that the opportunity of free TAFE is here to stay.
01:12Well, in this era of uncertainty as Western nations are accelerating their defence spending,
01:18questions were put to Mr Albanese about whether Australia needs to consider doing the same or,
01:22at the very least, needs to review its defence posture.
01:27You don't need a refresh to tell any Labor Prime Minister at the party of John Curtin
01:33that we need to defend ourselves.
01:35I think it was the Labor Prime Minister who understood that the kowtowing to the UK as it
01:43was then wasn't going to defend Australia and I'm very proud to be part of the same party
01:50that defended Australia.
01:52The Prime Minister will now get on a plane for a final 72-hour surge to polling day.
01:58Mr Albanese will be hitting six states in coming days targeting battleground seats as he tries
02:05to win every possible vote between now and 6pm on Saturday.
