Car Crashed into Crowd at Vancouver Festival

00:02A street festival in Vancouver ended in tragedy after a driver plowed their car into a large

00:06crowd, killing at least nine people.

00:10Dancers at the festival, a celebration of Filipino heritage, were performing a traditional dance

00:14when a car rammed into the crowd.

00:16At approximately 8.14 p.m., a lone suspect, subject male with one vehicle, drove through

00:27a crowded community event occurring near here.

00:33That male was taken into custody at the scene by the crowd.

00:38Canadian officials are still investigating the incident but said they are confident that

00:42this was not an act of terrorism.

00:44Late yesterday evening, I and all Canadians were shocked, devastated and heartbroken.

00:51I would like to commend the quick and compassionate actions of those at the scene and of our

00:57first responders.

00:59Huge community event.

01:02And to have an end in tragedy like this, it won't break us or the community but it's horrible.
