00:00Hey, what's up y'all? It's Dub here in the studio with another one of my guitar pull memories.
00:07Now this year we're going back to 2012 with this guy. Yeah, Luke Bryan was a big part of Kix99's
00:15guitar pull in 2012. We had a huge lineup in 2012. Let's run it down. We had Luke Bryan. We had
00:21Little Big Town. We had Lee Bryce. We had Brantley Gilbert. We had Lauren Alaina. We had Billy
00:26Currington. It was a huge lineup and I remember that year that guitar pull ticket stops were insane.
00:32We were drawing 700, 800, 900 people at guitar pull ticket stops. Why?
00:42This guy, Luke Bryan. It was 2012 was the year that Luke Bryan really hit. I mean he had had some hits
00:48before that but 2012 was the year where Country Girl Shake It For Me came out. I don't want this
00:53night to end. I mean just all those huge hits. When Tailgates and Tan Lines, when that album hit
00:57and all those songs came off of it, that's when we had Luke Bryan. And the other thing was we had
01:02Little Big Town when they were really starting to pop. We were supposed to have them in 2011 but
01:07Phillip got sick and so they had to back out last minute. Well they said, hey 2012 we're coming back
01:12and they did and they killed it. Lee Bryce was on a big string of hits. Brantley Gilbert was on a big
01:17string of hits. Of course Lauren Alaina was fresh off American Idol the year before. Billy Currington had
01:22all his hits. That's what I'm saying. It was a huge year and I'll never forget it. One of the one of my
01:28favorite memories about Guitar Pull 2012 was at the end and I'm going to put I'm going to link to this
01:34video here in this video. At the end of the show you know how we do Guitar Pull and and every artist
01:41plays four songs and then we do like an encore song where each artist plays another song. Well we had
01:47already done that. Well then Luke Bryan said, I'm not ready to go home yet. It was the Tuesday before
01:52Thanksgiving so everybody was like, hey we're heading back to Nashville after this. Why not stay
01:56a little bit later? And they did and they did like an impromptu jam session for like 10-12 minutes even
02:03after the grand finale. I love that. That's never happened again and again I'm going to link that
02:08to here. So 2012 was an awesome year. If you were there you remember it. If you weren't check out this
02:15video and you'll at least be able to see kind of the vibes that were going on in the James Brown arena
02:19that night. I'll be back here with you next week for more Guitar Pull memories as we get closer to
02:25the 2012 Kicks 99 Guitar Pull. Again we're just a month out. I got to think of some more memories.
02:30Still plenty of years to choose from I promise you.
