00:00The College of Cardinals began deliberations on Tuesday to set the date for the funeral of Pope Francis,
00:06which was decided for Saturday 26 at 10 a.m. local time.
00:10The body will be transferred on April 23 to St. Peter's Basilica for the public wake, which will last three days.
00:18Protocol calls for a stake ceremony, followed by a simple burial in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore,
00:25as Francis had ordered in his will.
00:27The wooden coffin, without the traditional three coffins, will be buried in the Pauline chapel
00:33under the icon of the Salus Populi Romani, with no inscriptions beyond his name in Latin.
00:39The conclave to elect a successor is expected to begin between 15 and 20 days after the death.
00:45In this context, in Pakistan, dozens of Christians in the city of Multan, known as the City of Saints,
00:59organized a mass with candles and prayers for Pope Francis.
01:03The service was led by Bishop Yusuf Sohan, Catholic bishop of Multan,
01:08who spoke of how Pope Francis had worked for brotherhood, peace and unity.
01:13Pakistan has about 3 million Christians in a nation of some 250 million people,
01:19and the country's Christian community is planning a special memorial service for the Pope on Sunday.
01:24We are all paying tribute to him, as he has done many services.
01:42Throughout the world, he had worked for brotherhood, peace and unity.
01:47Today we have lost the benefactor of humanity, we have lost the Pope Francis who has gone to the God.
02:04Pope Francis was a humble man and when he assumed his position he adopted the title of Francis which means humbleness,
02:10and he raised a strong voice for peace in Gaza.
02:12And the Vatican made public Pope Francis' last will and testament,
02:19where he detailed his wishes for where he would like to be buried following his death.
02:24The will of the Supreme Pontiff points out,
02:27feeling that the sunset of my earthly life is approaching,
02:30and with lively hope in eternal life,
02:33I wish to express my testamentary will only with regard to the place of my burial.
02:39I have always entrusted my life and my priestly and episcopal ministry to the Mother of our Lord, Mary Most Holy.
02:48Therefore, I ask that my motto remains rest awaiting the day of resurrection in the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
02:56The will also states,
02:57I wish that my last earthly journey concludes precisely in this ancient Marian sanctuary where I went for prayer at the beginning and an end of each apostolic journey,
03:08to confidently entrust my intentions to the Immaculate Mother and thank her for her docile and maternal care.
03:16I ask that my tomb be prepared in the niche of the side nave between the Pauline Chapel and the Sforza Chapel of the aforementioned Papal Basilica,
03:27as indicated in the enclosed attachment.
03:30The tomb must be in the earth, simple, without particular decoration, and with the only inscription, Franciscus.
03:37Franciscus.
