00:00A long time ago, in a small town, there lived an old toymaker named Gepedo.
00:13He sold wooden toys that he made to get by.
00:18The only thing the old toymaker regretted in his life was not having a child.
00:23One day, when he was walking in the woods, he found just the right log for his new toy.
00:34Just a log I was looking for. I will make a beautiful puppet with it.
00:40Gepedo took the log on his back and carried it to his workshop.
00:46He put the log on his table and started to carve.
00:49But suddenly, something unexpected happened, and he heard a voice coming from the log.
00:58Ah!
01:01Gepedo was stunned at first, but then thought that he was mistaken.
01:08Gepedo kept on carving, but then he heard the same voice again.
01:12Ah!
01:13I must be getting really old. I am hearing voices.
01:21Gepedo kept on working.
01:24First, the head of the puppet came out.
01:27Then, finally, his arms and legs followed.
01:34Gepedo finally finished the puppet.
01:36Gepedo sat him on a chair and started to tidy up.
01:45At that moment, he heard another voice.
01:49Hello!
01:50Gepedo looked around stunned, but he could not see anybody else than the wooden puppet.
01:56So, he kept on with his work.
02:02After a short while, the puppet jumped down from the chair and started dancing in the room.
02:11Seeing this, Gepedo really struggled not to faint.
02:14Of course, it wasn't a real kid, but it sure laughed, talked, and played like one.
02:28Gepedo held the puppet in his arms.
02:31From now on, your name shall be Pinocchio, my child.
02:36Gepedo and Pinocchio started to have happy times together.
02:40It was time for Pinocchio to go to school.
02:46But Gepedo did not have the money to buy Pinocchio his school stationery.
02:53Therefore, he sold his coat and gave the money to Pinocchio.
02:58Pinocchio took the money and got on his way to school with joy.
03:04Watching all the shops, people and the marketplaces on the way,
03:08suddenly, he saw a commotion ahead.
03:15To find out what was going on, he went amongst the crowd.
03:19Because he was so short, he barely walked past everyone to get to the front.
03:26What he saw was a big, colourful tent.
03:30It was a circus tent.
03:33The clown in front of the tent was calling out customers.
03:37Pinocchio was curious to see what was inside.
03:41But the clown stopped him from entering.
03:45You can't go inside unless you pay.
03:48Pinocchio thought for a while and remembered the money Gepedo gave him for school.
03:55Um, I have money.
03:58He took the money out of his pocket and gave it to the clown.
04:03Inside the tent was extreme fun.
04:06He saw puppets playing on the stage in the middle of the tent.
04:10Hey, they are also made out of wood.
04:13Jumping on the stage, Pinocchio started to dance amongst the puppets.
04:17But the spectators of the show were angry with him.
04:24The owner of the circus above the stage, holding the strings of the puppets,
04:29got very happy to see a live puppet.
04:31A puppet without strings would make me a lot of money.
04:38Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
04:39He thought.
04:41And as soon as the show was over, he caught Pinocchio and put him in a cage.
04:48Pinocchio was very upset that he did not listen to Gepedo and went directly to school.
04:53So he started to cry.
04:54Seeing how regretful Pinocchio was, a fairy appeared right next to him.
05:09You should have done what your father told you to do.
05:12But I see that you are aware of your mistake now.
05:15That is why I will save you.
05:17But don't you ever do the same mistake again.
05:20Pinocchio was very happy.
05:21He wiped his tears away.
05:23But I have no money.
05:25How am I going to go to school now?
05:28The fairy cast a spell and money appeared in Pinocchio's hand.
05:34Do not waste this money.
05:36Go straight to school.
05:39The fairy took Pinocchio out of the circus.
05:45Singing with joy, Pinocchio was on his way to school once again.
05:50Seeing Pinocchio joyfully singing, the shifty fox and his friends, the cat, cut Pinocchio's way.
06:06And they made a plan to take away Pinocchio's money.
06:08Where are you going so joyfully anyway?
06:14I'm going to buy some stationery and go to school.
06:17This money won't be enough for stationery.
06:20If you do as we say, you'll have much more money.
06:23What do you want me to do?
06:25You'll give us that money and we'll plant it in the magic field.
06:28And you too can have a money tree.
06:30You can go and pick the money up whenever you need.
06:33The naive Pinocchio believed everything fox had said and gave away his money.
06:44Taking away the money, the fox and the cat quickly got away.
06:49Being left alone, the fairy appeared next to Pinocchio again.
06:54Why aren't you still at school?
06:57Did you get the stationery with the money I gave you?
07:00Actually, the fairy knew that he gave his money to the fox.
07:07She warned Pinocchio.
07:09Don't you lie to me or I will punish you.
07:13Pinocchio did not listen to the fairy and lied anyway.
07:18Uh, um, I bought the stationery but left them at school.
07:23As soon as Pinocchio finished his sentence, his nose started to grow.
07:30Are you telling the truth?
07:33As he told more lies, Pinocchio's nose kept on growing and growing.
07:39At the end, he couldn't even move his head.
07:44Ah, but how?
07:47What is going on?
07:49Finally, he realised his mistake and told the fairy all about what had happened.
07:56Seeing that Pinocchio had taken the right path, the fairy brought his nose back to normal.
08:02I am forgiving you because you tell the truth.
08:06With another spell, she gave back the money the fox had taken.
08:13And she once more warned him not to waste any more of his money.
08:19Holding the money in his hand, singing along, Pinocchio started to walk again.
08:24But this time round, he was facing another type of danger.
08:30The circus owner that had captured him was standing right there before his eyes.
08:35Because he had gotten away, the circus owner was very cross with Pinocchio.
08:39He wanted to punish him.
08:41He caught Pinocchio and threw him in the sea.
08:44When Pinocchio fell over into the sea, he did not sink.
08:51He stayed afloat on the water because he was made of wood.
08:57Pinocchio really liked this feeling and started to swim by moving his arms and legs.
09:06And it all happened while he was swimming to the shore.
09:11Hey, what's going on?
09:13Where am I?
09:15Pinocchio suddenly found himself in a dark place.
09:19He looked around but could not see a way out.
09:22Actually, Pinocchio was swallowed by a giant fish.
09:26And now he was sitting right in the middle of his stomach.
09:31Meanwhile, Geppetto was worried about Pinocchio.
09:34And he went out to search for him.
09:39Pinocchio!
09:41Pinocchio!
09:43Finally, he had reached the shore where Pinocchio was thrown in the sea.
09:48He asked the fishermen whether they had seen his son or not.
09:53One of the fishermen remembered the boy Geppetto was asking for.
09:56And he told him that he fell down in the sea.
10:00Geppetto asked the fishermen for help.
10:03Knowing how good a person Geppetto was, the fishermen could not refuse to help.
10:08And so he gave him a small boat to save Pinocchio.
10:15Geppetto jumped on the boat and sailed to the sea.
10:17After a while, suddenly, a big storm had begun.
10:23The small boat could not handle the big waves anymore and collapsed.
10:28And Geppetto found himself in the middle of the sea.
10:32Geppetto was old and also did not know how to swim.
10:37So he started to sink deep into the water.
10:41Right at that moment, the giant fish which had swallowed Pinocchio also swallowed Geppetto.
10:48Geppetto slid down the fish's throat straight into his stomach.
10:53And he heard the crying voice of a child.
11:01He, of course, recognised this voice right away.
11:06Pinocchio, my son, I finally found you.
11:10I was so worried.
11:13Hearing his father's voice, Pinocchio hugged Geppetto in tears.
11:19I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you, Daddy.
11:22Forgive me, forgive me.
11:24I will always do what you say.
11:27Seeing that this time Pinocchio was really sorry, the fairy decided to rescue them.
11:33She took Geppetto and Pinocchio out of the fish's belly and flew them onto the shore.
11:43Pinocchio became a very clever boy after that day and always listened to his father.
11:49Went to school every day and after school, he ran home to help his father in his workshop.
11:59The fairy saw what a nice boy Pinocchio became and decided to give him a prize.
12:04One night, when Pinocchio was sleeping, she came next to his bed and cast a spell on him.
12:14In the morning, Pinocchio woke up to get ready for school, as always.
12:19Just as he was getting out of bed, he realised that something was different.
12:27First he looked at his hands and then to his body.
12:31He was shocked.
12:33He was not made of wood anymore.
12:35He was a normal boy, right in the flesh.
12:38He jumped with joy from his bed and ran next to his father.
12:42Daddy!
12:43Daddy!
12:43Look at me!
12:46Seeing Pinocchio as a real boy made Geppetto very happy.
12:52Finally, I have a real son!
12:56Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:00Pinocchio never lied again and his nose always stayed where it was.
13:06Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:07Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:08Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:09Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:10Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:11Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:12Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:13Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:14Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
13:15Father and son, they hugged each other with tears of joy.
