00:00Today, Rupert visits a filling station in Rupert and the Snow Cloud.
00:30There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done, and he's going to share them all with you, so come along.
00:43Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name. Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
00:57In all of these days...
01:05It's a cold winter's morning. Rupert pulls back his bedroom curtains and exclaims,
01:12Wizardy whiz! It's been snowing! Good-o! Now I'll be able to go tobogganing with Bill and Edward.
01:21Wait a minute, though. The snow's up to the windowsill. The ground seems to have moved upwards. I wonder what's happened.
01:31Have you seen the snow, dear? Look, it's piled up against the window.
01:37Yes, and it'll be the same against the door. It makes the room dark, doesn't it?
01:43Hey, Daddy! Mummy! The ground has moved up to my bedroom window.
01:49Hold on there, Rupert. Nothing's moved. It snowed a lot last night, and the wind must have blown it up against our house. It's a snowdrift.
01:59Oh, that's good. As long as nothing's moved, we're all right.
02:04Well, yes, but we've still got some hard work to do. We can't get out of the door.
02:10We'll have to climb from your bedroom window, find the shed, and try to get the shovels out to dig the snow away.
02:17I know. I could phone Pong Ping and ask him to bring George, his pet dragon, along.
02:24Oh, we don't really want any visitors just now, Rupert. Not at a time like this.
02:29No! I'm going to ask him to bring George to breathe hot air on the snow and melt it. George would love to do that.
02:38Well, that was a good idea of Rupert's. I hope they can do something. I don't fancy shoveling all that snow away.
02:46They're on their way. They haven't got the snow so deep. It seems to be only round here that the snow is as high as the upstairs windows.
02:54Soon, Pong Ping and George, his pet dragon, are outside the cottage, and Rupert is looking from his bedroom window.
03:01Where has the rest of your house gone, Rupert? It looks as though it's sinking. That's because it's so deep.
03:10Nobody else has had snow like this. It's all round your house. I'll ask George to start work, if you will tell me first where the back door is.
03:21Down there.
03:23This is fun, thinks George as he blows, and smoke and flames come from his nose.
03:30He moves forward with his head down, so the hot air soon melts all the snow.
03:45The door's cleared now, Rupert. Good-o. I'm coming down now.
03:49I must say it's easier mopping up water than shoveling snow. That was a good idea of yours, Rupert.
04:00Maybe. But George did all the work. I must go and thank him.
04:04That's that. All dried up. Let us go and thank George, too.
04:09George is very pleased with himself. It isn't often that he's allowed to breathe fire and smoke. This time he was asked to do so.
04:19Thank you, George. You're very clever.
04:23Yes. Saved us a lot of work, you have.
04:26He looks a bit tired now, though. I'd better take him home and give him something hot to eat.
04:32I know. I'm going to take my toboggan up to the common. Let's put George on it and pull him to your home.
04:38I think George is enjoying himself today. First, we ask him to breathe fire when we're usually telling him to stop.
04:55And now we're giving him a ride on your toboggan. Look, there's Jack Frost. I must ask him why we had all the snow on our house.
05:04Hello. Are you enjoying the snow? Yes, but...
05:10Before Rupert can ask him about the snow on his house, Jack Frost asks Rupert if he can help with a snow cloud that has sunk to the ground and can't move.
05:20You'll go with Jack, Rupert. I will take George back on the sledge and you can call for it later.
05:27Here it is, Rupert. Can't move. I don't know what to do about it. I can't just leave it lying about, can I?
05:36Well, why can't it move? It looks alright to me.
05:41Last night he threw out too much snow. Now he's too weak to lift off the ground.
05:48You see, Rupert, I found a cottage and thought I'd have some fun with it. I just kept snowing and snowing on this one house until you could only see the upstairs windows.
06:03It was good fun at the time, but now I've got no snow left and so I'm too weak to move.
06:10Oh, so that's why we were snowed in last night. That was my house you covered up.
06:17Oh, groans the snow cloud. Then you won't want to help me, will you?
06:24Yes, I'll help if I can. There was no harm done, was there?
06:29That's very kind. But what can you do?
06:33I know, Jack. If we put some snow back into the cloud, he should get some strength, shouldn't he?
06:40Of course, that will do it.
06:43It'll have to be clean snow, but there's plenty about.
06:56So he's soon fit and strong, this cloud who did wrong, because Rupert and Jack have put some snow back.
07:03I think you ought to come back to the palace with me, Rupert. I must make my report to the Snow Queen. She doesn't like losing a snow cloud.
07:14I'll take you. I'll take you. I'm quite strong now, thanks to Rupert Bear. Just jump onto my back.
07:22So onto his back jump Rupert and Jack. This is better than riding a bicycle. Jack sits down, but Rupert stands up. The snow cloud's as cold as an icicle.
07:37Up goes the cloud with Rupert and Jack, and nutwards now, far down below. The snow cloud tells Rupert to mind his head. They're about to go under a rainbow.
07:49Now to a palace fly, Rupert and Jack, all glistening, white, green and blue. The unguarded door is opening wide for Rupert, Jack and the cloud to go through.
08:04The Snow Queen is standing at the window, looking over her city in the clouds.
08:08Hello, Jack Frost. Who have we got as a visitor today?
08:14Your Majesty. I have brought with me Rupert Bear, who has been very helpful.
08:21And Jack tells the Queen of Rupert's help with the snow cloud.
08:24Hello, Rupert Bear. We have met before, haven't we? We're becoming old friends.
08:32Now that was a very good idea of yours, to reuse the snow to get the snow cloud back to base.
08:40We've never done that before, have we, Jack?
08:42No, Your Majesty. It's never been done.
08:47We do, of course, have our filling station here at the palace.
08:51But we have a rule that all clouds must save enough snow to return to base.
08:57Would you like to see the re-snowing depot, Rupert Bear?
09:01Yes, please, Your Majesty. Very much.
09:05Then Jack will show you. Won't you, Jack?
09:14At the snow-filling station, the clouds are filing through beneath the snowhoppers.
09:20And as each one stops beneath the chute, it receives its quota of snow.
09:25Here we are, Rupert. You see, it doesn't take long.
09:28And the computer over there is connected to the Wizard of the Winds workshop,
09:33so that his computer can tell him how we are off for snow.
09:37Oh, look. There's our snow cloud come in for a fill-up.
09:42Don't forget, snow cloud. I don't want any more snow drifts outside my bedroom window.
09:48Oh, no, Rupert. I promise on cloud's honour not to give you more than anyone else.
09:54Goodbye.
09:55Mr Bear has finished clearing away the snow that George had missed,
10:01and Mrs Bear has tea ready.
10:03I hope you're hungry, Rupert. I've made a special snow cake.
10:07It's not quite the shape I intended, but I hope it'll taste good.
10:12Well, whatever it tastes like, Mummy, it looks like a snow cloud to me.
10:17Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone's telling his name.
10:23Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
10:27Rupert, Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join in all of his games.
