The son of the late East Hull MP and Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott is running the London Marathon to help increase funding for Alzheimer’s Research UK after his father lived with Alzheimer’s disease.
David, 54, who is the founder of Hull PR and social media consultancy Larkin PR, has already raised more than £3,000 for the UK’s leading dementia research charity.
He said: “If nothing changes, 1 in 2 of us are going to be affected by dementia either by caring for somebody with the condition, developing dementia ourselves, or both.
“I've been one of those 1 in 2.
“I'm running the London Marathon in memory of my late father John Prescott who lived with Alzheimer's and wanted to raise some money and awareness of the great work Alzheimer’s Research UK is doing."
People can donate by going to David’s JustGiving page at www.davidprescott.co.uk
