00:00With the final season at Joe Louis Arena underway, we wanted to hear your favorite memories of the Joe as we approach a new beginning at Little Caesars Arena.
00:08So my favorite memory of the Joe is in 2008, being here for the conference finals and watching Detroit score in overtime to beat the Blackhawks in five and make their way to the Stanley Cup finals.
00:19That was just exciting seeing the crowd erupt. It's the largest I've ever seen in this building. It was amazing.
00:24One of my favorite memories of the Joe is probably Steve Ironsman's Jersey retirement.
00:30My favorite memory of the Joe would probably have to be the first time I was here.
00:35That was back in 2004. I would have been nine.
00:38And it was back when Draves and Iserman were playing.
00:41And they played the Devils, and it was the first game me and my dad went to.
00:46And it's a special memory because I actually got flipped a puck, and I got to be the fan of the game.
00:51So as a nine-year-old, it was super exciting for a first game, and it gave me this love of hockey that I've never let go.
00:58My favorite memory of the Joe was 1999, the Millennial game, where they won in overtime, five for four.
01:05One of my favorite memories at the Joe was the first time that I brought the kids to the Joe.
01:11This is all they've known. This is where they grew up. This is where they learned hockey.
01:15My favorite memory of the Joe is coming to the very first game, and that's back when they called them the Dead Wings.
01:21And to watch them progress into the Red Wings has been the greatest thing ever.
01:25One of my favorite memories of the Joe was my first game. It was a broken stick overtime win for the Wings.
01:32Our favorite memory is his first game when the Red Wings beat the Blackhawks two years ago.
01:36My favorite memory at the Joe was my first Wings game in March 2003. We saw the Wings play Phoenix? Phoenix.
01:45First time ever seeing Dominic Hasek on the ice was by far one of the greatest moments of my life.
01:50Tell me your favorite memory at the Joe.
01:52I actually had my engagement pictures done here on 11-11-16, and I'm getting married on 11-11-17.
02:00So it was something pretty special here to share with the Joe before we moved to the new one.
02:04One of my favorite memories at the Joe was four or five years ago we came this time of the year at the beginning of the season for the first home game,
02:13and the Tigers were still playing baseball.
02:15So we were able to watch the Tigers on the big screen while our guys were warming up down on the ice.
02:19One of my favorite memories at the Joe is when my two grandchildren had a chance to play a little game here.
02:26Chloe with the Troy Steen and Cooper with the Mount Clemens Wolves.
02:31One of my favorite memories at the Joe is reconnecting with my BFF.
02:38My favorite memory is when I came down here and I met Gordie Howell.
02:41That was really cool, man.
02:43Mr. Hockey himself.
02:44That was awesome.
02:46And I've been down here probably about 50 times in my lifetime, but that was the best memory I have so far.
02:51My favorite season at the Joe Lewis Arena was 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs.
02:56Playoffs, I was here, and what an incredible series that was, and to see the Game 7 breaker to go into the finals there.
03:05It was really good stuff, man, being here.
03:07And, yeah, go Joe Lewis, man.
03:10One of my favorite memories at the Joe Lewis was this past February on Valentine's Day when I took my son to his very first game.
03:16He was four months old, had no idea what was going on.
03:20He cried every time the sire went off.
03:22But putting him up to the glass and observing what was going on and actually had a pup handed to him, too, at four months old, was definitely one of my favorite memories.
03:31Every year, my parents would get Red Wings tickets through my mom's company.
03:34We'd all come as a family.
03:35We would have fun.
03:36We'd be dancing on the monitors.
03:38It was such a great time.
03:39Getting the opportunity to volunteer to help set up for the 5K and then the chance to spend the night at the Joe before running in each room.
03:46One of my favorite memories at Joe Lewis Arena would be when I came here for my first hockey game when I was seven years old against San Jose.
03:54And a San Jose fan got mad and threw a big, giant thing of popcorn on me.
03:58And I fell in love with the sport of hockey ever since.
04:01Dot Duke became my favorite player that day.
04:03And it was just a great time.
04:04My favorite memory at the Joe was when the Red Wings shut out the Chicago Blackhawks in the playoffs.
04:10My favorite memory at the Joe is getting the opportunity to meet Kirk Maltby outside after the game.
04:16I talked to him for about a half hour and now we're good friends.
04:20Favorite story, favorite time at Joe would probably be just being younger and the mini-mites and stuff like that.
04:25Just coming out and watching the games as a team.
04:29I thought I had all the teammates, parents, everyone coming.
04:31Just getting a good show and always a good time at Joe.
