00:00Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're looking over the bosses across gaming that gave us
00:09the heebie-jeebies.
00:10Be warned, there are some spoilers ahead.
00:21Number 10, Cynthia Weaver, Alan Wake 2 It's just a little old lady, what harm can
00:32she do?
00:33Well, in the world of Alan Wake, a frail old thing like Cynthia is the stuff of nightmares.
00:38Twisted by the dark presence, Cynthia's care home becomes a terrifying gauntlet of jump
00:42scares, culminating in a chilling descent to the flooded basement where she transforms
00:46from frail resident to a full-blown poltergeist.
00:49Even with all the ammo you can carry, Cynthia's unyielding attempts to drag you to a watery
00:54grave will leave you shaken.
01:00Number 9, Giygas, Earthbound Otherworldly in form and function, this alien
01:10entity remains one of the most horrifying creatures in gaming.
01:14Even the passing of time has done little to diminish the chilling impact of its reveal.
01:17What's there to be done against a being who can turn all life violent just by existing?
01:21Nothing, that's what.
01:23The only way to overcome Giygas is just keep on praying while it continuously shifts into
01:27new malevolent shapes and peppers you with attacks.
01:30The eeriness is only intensified when you learn that the concept Giygas was spawned from was
01:34a developer's traumatic incident in childhood.
01:42Number 8, Xenomorph, Alien Isolation While players have been blasting apart these intergalactic
01:57arthropods for years now, it was only through this seminal reintroduction that the Xenomorph
02:02become a terrifying force in gaming.
02:04With advanced AI and no way to fight back, this lone alien became the bane of our existence.
02:10Make the slightest sound or change in movement and the Xeno will be on you like a fly on
02:14honey.
02:15It's a cat and mouse game saturated in tension, made all the worse by those gnarly death scenes.
02:19No one can hear you scream in space, but that certainly didn't stop us.
02:31Number 7, Omega Flowey, Undertale This sentient murder flower was already creepy
02:43enough with its psychotic facial expressions and fourth wall breaks, but then it outdid
02:47itself after swallowing the souls of several children.
02:50The result?
02:51A mesh of plant, machinery, and nightmare fuel.
02:53The clash of animation, the bullet hell attacks, Flowey's haunting laughter, this is a final boss
02:58that nails the tone of dread.
03:00It was already a shock to the system when Flowey turned off the game, but after seeing what
03:04was waiting for us after rebooting it, yeah, major regrets.
03:07You'll never look at your garden the same way again.
03:15Number 6, Mother of Fingers, Elden Ring As any tarnish will tell you, few things in
03:32the Lands Between will inspire terror quite like the Finger Creepers.
03:35Giant hands that move like spiders?
03:37No thanks.
03:38So naturally, the DLC decided to double down on it by introducing us to the mother of all
03:42finger-related monsters, and she might be the most grotesque creature in the entire game.
03:47Which is no easy feat.
03:49As the daughter of an outer god, Meter hits hard, especially when it comes to gravity magic.
03:54Though the most damaging aspect might just be having to watch her run across the battlefield
03:58with those flailing, oversized ligaments.
04:01There's the uncanny valley, and then there's this.
04:09Number 5, The Rat King, The Last of Us Part 2.
04:25Nobody expected the clickers to be as terrifying as they were.
04:28A horde of fungal zombies with numerous variants that drive home the bitter truth that nature
04:32is just one bad day away from dooming us all.
04:35Among the brood of spore-spewing infected, none have invoked panic quite as severe as the
04:40Rat King, a combination of several species of clicker that have fused together over the
04:44years.
04:45It's big, it's aggressive, it soaks up damage like a sponge.
04:48Not exactly the kind of thing you want to be trapped in close quarters with.
04:59Number 4, The Teacher, Little Nightmares 2.
05:09Class is in session, and today's lesson is all about fear.
05:12Among the batch of monstrosities that prowl through this sequel, none made us want to flee
05:16for our lives more than this educator.
05:19The creepy old woman look is bad enough, but when she reveals her elongated neck and starts
05:23hunting after us like a serpent, she transcends into something altogether ghastlier.
05:27We'd rather face the thin man any day than be forced to spend a second in detention alone
05:32with her.
05:41Number 3, Pyramid Head, Silent Hill 2.
05:46An icon who ushered in a new era of video game terror, from every conceivable angle Pyramid
06:00Head is a menace.
06:01On the surface, he's a hulking stalker, obscured by his signature helm, who likes to spend his
06:05time cleaving souls to pieces with his colossal knife.
06:08But dig a little deeper, and he is so much worse.
06:11A construct born from James Sunderland's grief and desire for punishment, made manifest thanks
06:16to Silent Hill's otherworldly influence, Pyramid Head is an executioner here to make
06:20sure you wallow in your anguish for eternity.
06:30Number 2, Ludwig the Accursed, Bloodborne.
06:45The culmination of FromSoft's foray into gothic horror, Ludwig might just be the scariest
06:49Souls boss to date, and that is no easy mountain to climb.
06:52Once a brave hunter beset by the Scourge of the Beast, Ludwig is now a husk of himself.
06:57He's become a hideous amalgamation of misshapen flesh and unending fury, and while he does
07:01momentarily regain his senses during his second phase, it's only for the purpose of using
07:06his giant sword made of moonlight to crush us.
07:08Nothing ever good comes from messing with the old blood.

07:32Number 1, The Baby, Resident Evil Village.
07:44The exploration of House Beneviento was already a masterclass intention as we slowly unraveled
07:49the insidious puzzle set for us, and then it appeared.
07:52A giant, mutated fetus crawling towards us with the sole intention of devouring us.
07:58Unkillable and unrelenting, The Baby is arguably Resident Evil's apex when it comes to pure
08:02horror.
08:03The sound of its heavy crawl, the screams echoing down every hall, this wasn't just
08:07a boss to be bested.
08:08This was an exercise in cardiac arrest that we're hoping Capcom doesn't try to double
08:13down on.
08:14think we can take it.
