00:00Today, Rupert, whilst helping a hedgehog, helps the Snow Queen in Rupert and the Sleepless Hedgehog.
00:16There's a little bear like you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.
00:23Children everywhere go to love him more and more, he's the number one.
00:30There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done.
00:37And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.
00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.
00:50Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join in all of his name.
01:05It's a beautiful snowy morning, and Rupert is taking his sledge out onto the common.
01:11Mind you don't lose your new gloves, calls Mrs. Bear.
01:16All right, Mummy, I promise, replies Rupert, waving cheerfully.
01:21Raggedy is coming up the garden path, carrying something in his arms.
01:26Hello, what have you got there?
01:29It's Harry the Hedgehog, Raggedy explains.
01:32And he's very upset, because he's got in some, in some, um, well anyway, he can't get to sleep.
01:41How do you know that? asks Rupert.
01:44Because I can speak his language, of course.
01:46Oh, what's he saying now? Rupert asks excitedly.
01:51For the hedgehog is making a strange, clicking sort of noise.
01:56Raggedy holds him up to his ear.
01:58He says all hedgehogs should go to sleep in the winter, because they hiber, hiber, um, uh...
02:06Hibernate, cries Rupert triumphantly.
02:09Shhh, this is Raggedy holding the hedgehog to his ear again.
02:14Rupert waits impatiently while the little hedgehog clicks away.
02:19Raggedy translates.
02:21He wants an ice flower, and he says you know where they grow.
02:25An ice flower, says Rupert thoughtfully.
02:28He points excitedly.
02:30Oh, I remember, I found some once they...
02:33He stops, for the hedgehog is clicking again.
02:36He's cold too, explains Raggedy.
02:39Put him in my new glove, Rupert suggests, holding it out.
02:43I'll give you both a ride. Hop on my sledge.
02:48Bill and Edward are sledging on the common.
02:51Look, there's Rupert, shouts Edward.
02:55Come and join us.
02:57I will later, but I've got to find some ice flowers for Raggedy's hedgehog first, calls Rupert.
03:03We'll help, says Edward.
03:06They reach the top of the hill, and all four whizz down the other side.
03:14Wizardy whizz, shouts Rupert excitedly.
03:18Hold tight Raggedy.
03:20They go over a bump, and Raggedy flies up into the air, still clutching the hedgehog.
03:25Rupert and his friends look round at the snow.
03:28But where in the world did Raggedy go?
03:35Hello?
03:36Rupert looks up as Jack Frost descends on his snow cloud.
03:40Hello Jack, we've lost Raggedy.
03:43Jack Frost looks round.
03:45I know.
03:46We'll call the snow brigade, he suggests.
03:50They'll find him.
03:52He blows a shrill blast on his whistle.
03:55And a snowman appears.
03:58And another.
04:00And another.
04:03All wearing peaked hats and armbands with the letters SB in red.
04:10Now don't you worry.
04:12They'll find him in no time at all, Jack Frost assures a worried Rupert.
04:17Dig here, commands the snowman, pointing down at the snow.
04:22Wait there, calls Jack, hurrying towards his snow cloud.
04:27And he returns, carrying a spade and a large spray.
04:31What's that? asks Edward.
04:34Oh, that's the warming spray, Jack explains.
04:38You can have some if you like.
04:45So Jack digs.
05:00And there's Raggedy, still clutching the hedgehog,
05:04which is still tucked inside Rupert's glove.
05:07Oh, thank you, shivers the poor little creature.
05:11I'm frozen.
05:13Jack sprays him.
05:15You'll feel better in a moment, he promises.
05:19Thank you, Mr. Snowman.
05:21But the snowman has gone.
05:23He looks round, surprised.
05:26And all the snowman's search brigade have gone, as suddenly as they arrived.
05:33Raggedy is feeling better.
05:35Hurried, hurried snow, he stamps crossly.
05:39Stay still, says Jack.
05:41And I'll give you another spray.
05:43This time Jack gives him such a good spray that the snow melts around him.
05:52What a beautiful lump of ice, exclaims Rupert, picking it up.
05:57Why, it's not ice at all.
05:59It's a diamond.
06:01Oh, Rupert, cries Jack Frost happily.
06:06That belongs to my mother, the Snow Queen.
06:09We've been looking for it everywhere.
06:11You must come home with me, because she will want to thank you for finding it.
06:15Raggedy is cross.
06:18I found it.
06:19I found it.
06:20Yes, that's right, Rupert agrees.
06:24Come on, Raggedy.
06:26The Snow Queen is sitting on her throne, looking very sad, as Rupert and his friends enter.
06:32And Rupert can see a hole the size of a marble in the center of the crown on her head.
06:39Hide your eyes, Mummy, says Jack cheerfully.
06:43How can you play games at a time like this, she says sadly, when the royal diamond is lost?
06:51But, but, stutters Rupert.
06:54Please, Mummy, close your eyes.
06:57We've got a surprise for you.
07:00So the Queen covers her eyes with her hands.
07:03And Jack carefully returns the diamond to its place in the center of her crown.
07:08Look, he laughs, holding up a mirror.
07:12Oh, the Queen is speechless with delight.
07:18Oh, Rupert found it, Jack Frost explains.
07:25Because of me, adds Raggedy proudly.
07:28Oh, thank you, says the Snow Queen gratefully.
07:33You've made me so happy.
07:36What can I do for you?
07:39You can have anything you want.
07:42Rupert's confused.
07:45I, um, I don't think I want anything, he stammers.
07:49Your Majesty, he adds.
07:52A clicking noise makes him jump.
07:54It's the hedgehog again.
07:58He's cross because you haven't found any ice flowers for him, Raggedy explains.
08:03Of course, cries Rupert.
08:05I'd forgotten.
08:06Could you give us some ice flowers, please, Your Majesty?
08:10They're for the hedgehog to make him sleep.
08:13Well, that's easy enough, says the Snow Queen, surprised.
08:18Look, there are some in that vase over there.
08:21Please, take them all.
08:23Rupert is pleased.
08:25Oh, thank you!
08:27And he holds one out to the hedgehog.
08:30We'd better put him to bed.
08:33Goodbye, Rupert.
08:35Goodbye, Raggedy, says the Snow Queen.
08:39And remember, if you should ever need anything,
08:42I shall be pleased to help you.
08:46. . .
08:53Says the hedgehog.
08:55Over the common, Jack Frost flies.
08:58And far, far below, Rupert spies the sledge carrying Edward and Bill,
09:03tobogganing quickly down the hill.
09:05Then Raggedy's happy to see his home at last in the hollow tree.
09:11. . .
09:12Shh!
09:13I'll put him in this little hole, whispers Raggedy happily.
09:16Hey, my new glove, says Rupert, rescuing it just in time.
09:21Jack Frost takes off.

09:41Snores the hedgehog.

09:44Hello, Rupert.
09:46Lunch is ready, says Mrs. Bear.
09:49Oh, what lovely flowers.
09:52They're for you, Mummy.
09:54And Rupert tells her all about his adventures.
09:57. .
09:58Fancy!
09:59Mrs. Bear is surprised.
10:01A diamond as big as a marble.
10:05She sighs wistfully.
10:07Oh, well, I've got these beautiful flowers.
10:11And flowers in the winter are worth their weight in gold.
10:16She chuckles as she puts the vase on the table.
10:19Rupert, Rupert the Belle, everyone in his name.
