00:00In other news, the first Filipino humanitarian mission to Myanmar just returned last night
00:05after a fortnight of relief and recovery assistance to earthquake victims there,
00:10notwithstanding the challenges of culture and language barriers.
00:13As a result, the Department of Health has stressed it can down-dispatch a second or follow-up humanitarian mission
00:19at a moment's notice if a request is formally made.
00:22Arbyad Manalo fills us in with more.
00:24The Department of Health assured the country is ready to send an additional contingent to Myanmar
00:32if the government of Myanmar requests it.
00:35The Health Department also assured that the medical team to be sent to Myanmar,
00:40which is categorized by the World Health Organization as a type 1 fixed hospital, is self-sustaining.
00:45There is no request at as of this time, maghihintay kami ng request
00:58Meanwhile, aboard a C-130 cargo aircraft,
01:02the 89-man team of the Philippine Humanitarian Contingent Team arrived in the country last night.
01:07It was dispatched to Myanmar to help in the search and rescue operations there,
01:11which lasted for almost two weeks.
01:13The team's response was not easy.
01:15The differences in culture and language were a huge challenge for them.
01:19One of the first challenges po na na-encounter namin was yung communication
01:24kasi magkaiba po yung language namin.
01:28But we were given interpreters ng OCD.
01:46And the next po was the weather.
01:55They have provided aid to more than a thousand Filipinos.
01:59Most are injured and still in need of medical attention.
02:02They are also focusing on providing psychosocial support to those severely affected by the disaster.
02:08In FACA, an eight-member team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development
02:12has arrived in Yangon, Myanmar to provide psychological first aid.
02:22Sa Yangon sila assigned.
02:24Ang mission naman nila,
02:26to help yung mga Filipinos na suffering from psychosocial problems
02:30because of the effect ng earthquake.
02:36Meanwhile, the search for two missing Filipinos in Mandalay, Myanmar is still active.
02:42The Department of Migrant Workers assured to continue monitoring the condition of our OFWs
02:47affected by the strong earthquake.
02:50BN Manalo from the National TV Network for a New and Better Philippines.
