00:00Here it goes, here it goes!
00:08Right here at Merry Hill, something big's just hatched, and I mean really big.
00:13At five metres tall, this monster of an Easter egg is now the UK's largest.
00:18But it's not just here to be gulped at.
00:20Shoppers can leave their mark on it, literally,
00:23with stickers being handed out by some very lively bunnies.
00:26And that's just the start.
00:28There's live performances, art trails, surprise giveaways, and a few cheeky nods to the season.
00:34But beyond the fun, it's about turning a retail space into something a bit more human.
00:39I think it's just been a wow from everybody who's come to see the egg.
00:44We just wanted to wow our customers and wow the community.
00:47So it's just been a fantastic reaction.
00:50People walking around the corner just looking up at the egg.
00:53So it's been absolutely fantastic.
00:55And I think we base this on what our customers wanted.
00:59They wanted to be excited when they came shopping, not just seeing shops and leisure.
01:05They want interactive things as well.
01:07There's something about big public art that gets people talking,
01:11especially when it's shaped like an egg and covered in stickers.
01:14But this isn't just some fancy sculpture.
01:17It's a bit of community spirit in Technicolor.
01:20Alongside it, you've got artwork from over 300 kids displayed on an Easter trail.
01:26Leading families around the centre, solving clues.
01:29And if they're lucky, they'll bag a little chocolatey reward.
01:32So it received really well.
01:34So from my experience, my son absolutely loved creating his egg.
01:38He was shortlisted for one of the finalists.
01:41He didn't win, unfortunately, but we had a great time creating his design.
01:46And I think other families have really enjoyed it as well.
01:48We went out to our local schools and they could have got involved if they wanted to.
01:52We did have some schools to enter as well.
01:55So all in all, it's been really well received.
01:58And like I said, my son absolutely loved it.
02:00Among the colour and creativity,
02:02there's a lovely gesture tucked into the mix, the Good Egg Award.
02:06It's all about recognising those who've made a real difference
02:09through kindness and generosity.
02:11People can nominate someone special in their lives
02:14and one of them will walk away with a £1,000 gift card.
02:18It's a simple idea, but one that saves a lot,
02:21especially in times where a bit of thoughtfulness goes a long way.
02:25It brings a deeper layer to the fun and adds heart to the celebrations.
02:30Yes, I do think that it's inspired more community goodwill among our visitors.
02:34I think it's highlighted the good eggs that we already have in our community.
02:38So for example, I work a lot with Team Public in Boxing,
02:41who are located only less than a mile up the road.
02:44We sponsor them throughout the year.
02:46So we do ten referral spaces.
02:48So for me, Carl is an absolute great egg.
02:51He's our good egg, but we know that there's more people out there
02:55who are doing fantastic things just like Carl does.
02:57I just have all our strong heads that Stephen Call does.
03:00OK, we areת
03:13where we go and pick up today and pick up our building.
