00:00Chris, just some of your emotions after that.
00:03Yeah, incredibly low and disappointed.
00:07Personally, from everybody, regarding the football club.
00:13We, first of all, get the first goal.
00:17I thought we were in control.
00:19Get to half-time in the lead.
00:22We needed to take the game away from them.
00:24We had enough of the play.
00:25We had enough control of the game.
00:28But we needed to go and get a second goal.
00:30So we understood that, you know,
00:33they're threats from a long throw and set play.
00:38So we talked to half-time about being nice and disciplined
00:41and dealing with that because, you know,
00:43they will have those situations.
00:44Us not making any careless or unnecessary risks,
00:49which we didn't, up to 70, 75 minutes or whatever it was.
00:53But we have to go and get the second goal as well.
00:54That was the message as well.
00:56You know, it wasn't sit back.
00:57I'm not an idiot.
00:58You know, I'm like, yeah, whatever at the moment.
01:01But you're going to get the second goal.
01:02Because the first goal punctured them a little bit.
01:05But it wasn't enough.
01:06As soon as we got the second goal,
01:07then that would have been game, set and match.
01:09But we didn't.
01:10And then Vinny goes off the pitch.
01:14They scored from a corner.
01:16And then, you know, then any results possible.
01:19And they found the winner.
01:21We should have found the winner when the tie went through.
01:24They found the winner.
01:24And, like I said, from 70 minutes onwards,
01:2975 minutes onwards, you're scratching your head.
01:31You can't lose today and expect to be in the mix
01:38and in the shout to get out of the division
01:40by losing to the team at the bottom of the division.
01:42You can't lose last weekend.
01:44You can in a way, but you've got to recover
01:48and win the next two.
01:50And you can't lose three games at this stage of the season
01:52and expect to be knocking on the door
01:54and trying to get out of the division.
01:56And we put ourselves in a great position
01:58after the Coventry game.
02:00And basically, we've let it slip.
02:02So, we have to own that
02:03and take themselves, take the responsibility
02:05and the players' responsibility
02:07for a really poor week in terms of results.
02:11The players look as if they are mentally fatigued
02:14and played like it today.
02:15Is that fair?
02:16No, I don't think they played mentally fatigued
02:18in terms of that.
02:19I thought we controlled the game.
02:23I, you know, especially, you know, second half.
02:29We had enough of the play,
02:31but we have to go and find that ambition
02:33and the players and find that quality
02:35to get that second goal.
02:36And we had enough opportunities.
02:38We got the ball into the areas
02:40where we wanted to get it into,
02:41but you've got to go and get that second goal.
02:44Because as long as it's 1-0,
02:46you know, anybody can score from anything.
02:49You know, a long throw, a corner,
02:50or a mistake by us.
02:52But we were in control,
02:53so I never felt that.
02:54I never felt they were mentally tired
02:56and didn't look it.
02:59We weren't on the ropes for any part of that game.
03:03And even in terms of, you know,
03:06the last bit,
03:07I didn't even feel that was coming
03:09in terms of, you know,
03:10it wasn't like they've had corner after corner
03:12and corner and goalkeepers made a save
03:14and were clearing stuff off the line
03:15and last-ditch tackles or blocks or headers.
03:19There was none of that.
03:20It's just come from nowhere
03:21and Vinny's off the pitch.
03:23He's not dealt with a corner.
03:24And then the place explodes,
03:26which he's going to be
03:27because they're fighting for their lives
03:28and they're trying to stay in the division.
03:30And their fight to stay in the division
03:31and our fight to try and get out of the division.
03:33So I should score when he goes through
03:35to kill the noise again
03:37and win the game.
03:39He doesn't.
03:41Their boy goes past one of our players
03:43too easily,
03:44puts the ball into a dangerous area
03:45and they find the winner
03:46and then it's for us to try
03:51and get him back in the game
03:52with their supporters
03:53and their players
03:54absolutely dying and fighting for their lives
03:56and trying to kick the ball
03:57out of the back of the net
03:58isn't going to be easy
04:00and we've still had enough of the ball
04:02but still made some not great decisions
04:04late on to get ourselves back in the game.
04:07You got the players into a huddle
04:08upon full-time.
04:09What was essentially the tone of the message?
04:11We have to own this last week.
04:14We have to take responsibility.
04:15We were in a fabulous position
04:16after the Coventry game.
04:18We have to go over
04:19and recognise the support
04:20coming down here.
04:21I thought they were outstanding
04:22all afternoon.
04:24They'll be extremely disappointed,
04:26annoyed, angry
04:26and all stuff like that.
04:27I totally get that
04:28and I've got no issue about that
04:30as I talked about last week as well.
04:33You know, players are disappointed,
04:35frustrated.
04:36Everybody is supporters
04:37more importantly.
04:39We talked about that.
04:41We talked about sticking together.
04:43It's not been a great week.
04:44It's not a time for pointing fingers
04:46and chucking arms up in the air
04:48and, you know,
04:48we should have done this
04:49or we should have done that.
04:50You should have done this
04:51and you should have done that.
04:52That's not the culture
04:53of the football club.
04:54The culture is to fight
04:58and dig in
04:58and we're going to have to fight
05:01and dig in.
05:01I talked about having a big week.
05:04We need to get this out of our heads.
05:06We need to come back in Monday
05:08and prepare for Friday
05:10because regardless of league position
05:12or what we've not done
05:14over the past week
05:15or whatever
05:16regarding points off second
05:20or points off top,
05:22we need to put in a positive
05:25front foot performance
05:27at Brammer Lane
05:27in front of our supporters
05:29on Friday
05:30and then what will be
05:31will be off the back of that
05:32but you certainly
05:34massively hurt yourselves
05:36if you don't pick any points up
05:39with six games to go
05:41in a three-game week.
05:43But you're not one to
05:44throw the white flag.
05:46I think you mentioned
05:46that particular phrase yesterday,
05:48four games left.
05:49Still points to play for.
05:51What do you think?
05:54I'm not trying to be clever
05:55but it's not in us.
05:57It's not in me.
05:58Certainly not in me.
06:00Not in us.
06:00We have to accept
06:02that we've not been good enough
06:03and me, the coaches
06:05and the players
06:06because we're not...
06:07It's not a blame culture
06:09at the football club.
06:11It's not...
06:12We win together.
06:13We lose together.
06:13That's the culture
06:15that we've tried to install
06:17for quite a long time.
06:19We all enjoy the accolades
06:25when you win games of football
06:27and you go well.
06:30So when you don't
06:31there's that other part of it.
06:33So that's going to be the narrative
06:35which I'm fine with.
06:36So we talk about that.
06:39There's never a white flag
06:41should ever be raised
06:43at our football club
06:44whatever the situation was
06:46or is
06:48and it's no time
06:50but we have got to
06:51give the club something back
06:54on Friday night
06:55with a performance
06:57and a result
06:58and all focus
07:00and determination
07:04and everything
07:06that you need to do
07:07will be placed
07:08at the end of the week
07:09to making sure
07:10that that's right
07:10on Friday.
07:11on Sunday.
07:11Bye.
07:11Bye.
