00:00It was really, really tough. I mean, I'm not going to say it was one point to lose,
00:09but I was kind of there in the second set. I think his level is pretty high.
00:15You know, the strength that he hit the ball is amazing. Physically, he is one of the most
00:30physical players on the tour. One of the best ones, for sure. I mean, today I think I didn't play
00:39my best tennis, but I think I played a great tennis. It was about details today, I think.
00:49In some moments he made some mistakes in the first or second set of the points, so I tried to make the
00:57most of that three points. I tried to stay there all the time, which I think I did it great.
01:05And yeah, one of the most difficult matches that I've played this year.
01:09Hi, Carlos. I have the feeling that to see your best tennis, you have to be in danger.
01:19When you are in danger, then you find out to win points, and you play the best points of the
01:26tournament or of the game. Don't you think it's a risky plan to have? Because it happened quite a few.
01:343-0 down at the beginning, then you go up for all, and then you set 5-0, low 40, and then again the best
01:41points of the game. So don't you think it's a little tricky, especially when maybe you will face
01:49players like a top-top play?
01:53Yeah, I know that. I think for my health and my team health, it is important to play
02:00the best points a little bit earlier. But probably a few times my team and my dad told me that probably
02:10he's going to get a heart attack sometimes. But I mean, it's just, I don't know. I think the real
02:20champions just found the right level when it's needed. Obviously, I would love to play such a,
02:28I mean, at a high level or my best tennis from the beginning until the last ball. But I think,
02:33you know, in tennis, we're playing two hours, two hours and a half. So it is the most difficult
02:40things to do in tennis, to maintain your best tennis during two hours and a half. So when it's needed,
02:52it is great to find the good tennis. But, you know, in general, in the whole match,
02:58I would like, I would love to play a good tennis. But sometimes I'm playing against an opponent who
03:07plays better. And you have to accept it and run and fight. And when, you know, I think I just,
03:15yeah, I just played a good second set. But, you know, we both didn't have chances until the end of the
03:24set. So that, that means that we were playing a great tennis, both of us in the in the subs game.
03:31And, and, but yeah, I think the real champions find the, the, the good tennis in, in the tough
03:37moment.
03:53Well, uh, yeah, I just, uh, I, I, I started my, my career really, uh, really early, uh, which that means I,
04:15I, I have already, uh, leave, uh, a lot of situations, uh, which I learned, uh, about playing, uh,
04:24finals of, uh, Master 1000, Grand Slams. Uh, I lost, uh, some of the, uh, of tough matches, uh,
04:32that made me learn, uh, about how to deal with, uh, with some situations. So, um, yeah,
04:38um, uh, I say I'm super young. I'm still super young and, but I feel like, uh, I have to keep going
04:45to live experience to, to learn about that. But I feel like I, I know how to deal with, uh,
04:50with some situations that probably other players, uh, don't have that, that feeling. Uh, but yeah,
04:58having, uh, tournaments like this one in Monte Carlo, this is my, my second time that I played here
05:03and, uh, be able to play a semi-final for the first time may make me, uh, you know, still growing,
05:10growing up as a player, as a person, uh, living new, new experiences. I think, uh, every match is new,
05:15is different and we have to learn, uh, you know, from, from, from the matches that I, that I,
05:22that I playing. Uh, so that's, uh, I think this tournament is, is really important just to,
05:27to, to keep going and, uh, to get confidence for, for the clay season.
05:31Last two, Paul and Dave.
05:33Carlos, congrats.
05:36Now it's going to be Alejandro in the seventh final. He's your first friend,
05:41Emmanuel. He's hoping that you are invited to his wedding and after two. So what do you like
05:48the most about him and what do you say tomorrow?
05:51Yeah, he, he invited me, uh, to his, uh, wedding. Uh, he's, he, he's, he's a friend. Uh,
06:00we've seen, uh, each other for a long time already. Uh, he used to play with my, my, my old brother
06:06when they were younger as well. So I know, I know him pretty well. I, I've played against him a few,
06:11few times, uh, practice a lot. So it's, uh, it's gonna be interesting. It's not, it's not gonna be easy.
06:18Uh, it's never easy playing against, uh, against a friend, but, uh, you know, this, this tennis,
06:24uh, once you step on the court, there's no offense. Uh, so I had to, I had to go for it. Uh,
06:29there's no time to be tired, to, to be afraid. I will try to show a good tennis and, uh, let's see.
06:34It's gonna be my first semifinal here in Monte Carlo. I think it is, uh, his second or third time
06:39he's gonna play the semifinal here. Um, I know this is a tournament. He loves playing, uh, and I think he
06:46feels really comfortable playing here in Monte Carlo. So I think he's been playing a good tennis
06:51lately. Um, I think it's gonna be a really interesting match to watch to, to play. I'm excited.
06:56Um, and yeah, and let's see how it's gonna be tomorrow.
07:00Uh, yeah, I'm, I'm a person who needs to, to just to, uh, you know, talk, you know, with, uh,
07:30someone that I trust, you know, when the, when, when I have difficult situations,
07:34difficult moments, uh, the angry that I have inside, I have to, uh, put it out, uh, in some
07:41way. And I think it's the best, uh, there is not the best, best way to, to do it when, uh,
07:46if I'm not talking to just to Samuel, I think, you know, seeing the, the match from, from outside,
07:51it's always, uh, uh, a better view, uh, that the, he can give me some advices, uh, what I have to
08:00do or what I have to, what I have to, uh, uh, so to the opponent. Uh, so yeah, I, I, I need that
08:07talk to, to him, to my team, just to put it out, all the angry that I have. And obviously,
08:12sometimes I need, you know, advising, uh, because, uh, you know, sometimes I, I don't know how to,
08:18or what I have, what I have to do on the, on the match. So that view from, from outside helped me a lot
08:23to show a good tennis and, and probably, uh, have less, less nerves. So I think, uh, you know,
08:30having, having Samuel and, or, or having that, that talks with Samuel, uh, you know, helped me a lot.
