Authorities investigate murder of Filipino Chinese tycoon
Philippine authorities on April 10, 2025 say they are in pursuit of the perpetrators involved in the kidnapping and killing of a Filipino Chinese tycoon. Congyuan Guo, also known as Anson Que, was found dead, along with one other person on a roadside in the province of Rizal on April 9, according to the Philippines National Police. He was reportedly kidnapped on March 29 and had been missing together with his driver. Philippine National Police spokesman Jean Fajardo said they were looking into the motive of the murder since the perpetrators reportedly asked for a ransom, but later killed the victims. Presidential spokesman Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the police to prioritize the case and arrest those responsible.
