00:00Making some noise for a cause close to this community's heart.
00:07It's been almost a year since Molly Tysos was killed at her home in Forbes,
00:12allegedly by her former partner Daniel Billings, who was out on bail at the time.
00:17For close friends, the loss is still raw.
00:21We lost not just a friend, a family member, an educator.
00:25We lost the girl next door.
00:27Molly was so loved, but she's not the only victim.
00:31Hundreds of motorbike riders joined family and friends
00:34as they travelled from Miss Tysos' hometown to Canberra
00:37on a campaign for tougher bail laws.
00:40New South Wales has already passed stricter bail legislation,
00:44including mandatory ankle monitors
00:46for people accused of serious domestic violence offences.
00:50In terms of whether it is effective or not,
00:52it's only been enforced for nine months
00:54and so there's yet to be data to support whether it is actually keeping women and children safe.
00:59When you haven't got 24-hour policing in a town like Forbes, what's an ankle monitor do?
01:04It takes 25 minutes for a police officer to respond from parks.
01:08Bail legislation is different in each state and territory,
01:11but the people here are pushing for a more coordinated approach
01:14and want to see bipartisan support for stricter laws across Australia.
01:19Bail should be revoked and they should be held in custody until court.
01:22Advocates say greater funding for regional communities is required.
01:26We are almost double the average of domestic violence reported incidents
01:31and we can correlate that with a lack of services and a lack of funding.
01:35Federal Labor and the Coalition have committed to targets reducing female DV deaths.
01:41Now this community wants them to follow through.
01:45Second, we're compulsory.
01:46We're going to be communicating to the people around the world.
01:47We are asking for that,
01:48we are going to try to be able to follow the people around the world.
01:51We are arguing as a comprehensive,
01:53and we are going to take that out for several months.
01:54We are arguing as the ascent.
01:55Then we are arguing as an incident.
01:56It's not being able to be able to die.
01:57We are suggesting that we can lead to the student violence.
01:59We are arguing as an incident,
02:01we are arguing as a way of a hospital to attend the life of these victims.
