A tourist helicopter plummeted upside down into New York City's Hudson River on Thursday (April 10), killing all six people on board, including a Spanish family with three children and the pilot.

00:02A tourist helicopter plummeted upside down into New York City's Hudson River on Thursday,
00:08killing all six people on board.
00:10The victims included a Spanish family with three children and the pilot.
00:14The New York Times reported that Agustin Escobar,
00:18an executive at Germany-based technology company Siemens, was among those killed.
00:23Police said the Bell 206 chopper, operated by New York Helicopter Tours,
00:27departed at about 3 p.m. from a downtown helicopter pad and flew north over the Hudson River.
00:34It turned south when it reached the George Washington Bridge and crashed minutes later,
00:39hitting the water upside down and getting submerged near lower Manhattan at around 3.15 p.m.,
00:45just off Hoboken, New Jersey.
00:47At this time, all six victims have been removed from the water.
00:53And sadly, all six victims have been pronounced deceased.

01:16It did not respond immediately to a request from Reuters for comment about the crash.
01:22The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
