00:00It's a charity match for the Rapper Jack, which is what we're starting for our Jack when he passed back in 2017.
00:06We're taking cash and toy donations and we're giving them to the less fortunate kids and families around the area.
00:14So it's always good, we've been going five years, we've helped with our 1,000 kids so far.
00:19And this is, he would have been his 18th this year, so we thought we'd do something amazing for him.
00:23He loved football, lived and breathed football, loved South Shields, even described the day at Wembley when they won the FAVs.
00:31It's the best day he's liked. So I thought what better place to try and hold the game.
00:37We're going to hold it to you on Saturday, 10th of May, 1 o'clock kick-off, gates open at 12 o'clock.
00:42What it means to the club is obviously respect where it's due, obviously the family, being big fans of the club for years and years.
00:49You know, God bless Jack, lovely kid. Not just about the football club though, it's about the community, what South Shields and South Townsend actually means to families like Jack's family.
00:59And it's an honour for us as a club to hold this game here as well.
01:03It's a big event, you know, it has to be fantastic. Everybody knows all the fans have grown up from when we're kids.
01:08And both competitions go from strength to strength. And it's great that James, the CEO and director of World Competition, puts this money in to help people like him.
01:15I can't help myself, of course. It's just a great cause.
01:17So when you do a great cause for your hometown, it's buzzing, you get the goosebumps. It's absolutely fantastic.
01:22And of course, everybody's going strength to strength. Shields have got promoted and they're in the same division next season.
01:28So, excellent. And then, of course, we're getting bigger and bigger and we can help people because we're getting bigger.
01:33So, 10th of May, get your tickets. We want people to donate for this great cause.
01:38Get yourself down, go to your fantastic day. Excellent. Marquees open, grab a grand legacy.
01:42Everything's going on. And it's a great, great purpose. And that's why James, the CEO and director, goes and gets himself involved for all the local charities.
01:49When it's closed for the last game of the season, we've got nine games on it.
01:53And predominantly for local people who either are reaching out to try and raise funds for, like, the Cancer Connections.
02:00Or somebody who's passed and there's a memory game being held for our lad, Dale Sullivan.
02:05And obviously, you know, as Jack, we've been in 18 years here. It's an absolute honour to hold that game as well.
02:10There was no other place we wanted to do it. As soon as we decided we wanted to do a charity match, this had to be the location.
02:17I mean, it's sentimental to the family. Like, we held each funeral just, yeah, back in 2017.
02:23Yeah, it's just very sentimental to the family.
02:28And what's been the support like, you know, from the, you know, from the sort of the wider community, the football club, what's been the support like?
02:33Oh, amazing. I couldn't thank Carl enough. He's helped us through every step of the way. He's been amazing.
02:38As soon as I sent our first email, he was straight back where he says, look, 100%, you can have the pitch.
02:42He's can get it done, yeah. He's helped us through everything. He's got the pitchers, the strips, sorry, on all that for her.
02:48So, yeah, he's absolutely been amazing. The club as well, I'd just like to say thank you for letting me host it here.
02:54Yeah, it's going to be amazing.
