00:45violates Islamic values. He claimed that the presence of DJs and entertainment crossed cultural

00:51boundaries and ignored decorum. Shirlina said Songkran has long been part of Penang's cultural

00:56calendar held peacefully and enjoyed by the public without controversy. She added that the backlash

01:03was not about values but about exerting control and called on Muslims to uphold Islam's principles

01:08of moderation and justice in a diverse society.
