Transcript
00:00Have you changed your tune then from the 2020 leadership race where you said that you would
00:04vote to scrap the monarchy? In a Channel 4 TV debate you said, I am a democrat so I would
00:10vote to scrap it. I have actually, yeah. And the reason that I've done that is because
00:16certainly since we're in government, but even before, I've had the opportunity to partner
00:20with members of the royal family, whether it's on dealing with the crisis facing the
00:25younger generation, issues like knife crime and others that the King's Trust is working
00:30very closely with us to try and tackle, or whether it's the Soft Power Council that David
00:35Lammy and I have set up where we've been able to work with members of the royal family in
00:40order to extend our influence abroad and help secure great benefits for Britain. We recently
00:46announced the Tour de France alongside the Duchess of Edinburgh in Edinburgh. It's a great boost
00:52for Britain.
