Das technische Herzstück des neuen Outlander Plug-in Hybrid ist der komplett überarbeitete Antriebsstrang. Er sorgt für eine vergrößerte elektrische Reichweite, dynamische Beschleunigung und verbesserte Laufruhe, um ein noch geräuschärmeres Fahrerlebnis zu erreichen. Zum Einsatz kommt ein effizienter Vierzylinder-Benzinmotor (100 kW) mit 2.360 cm3 Hubraum, kombiniert mit zwei leistungsstarken Elektromotoren – vorn (85 kW) und hinten (100 kW) – und einer Systemleistung 225 kW (306 PS). Ob elektrisch durch den Alltag oder entspannt in den Urlaub: Die vergrößerte Fahrbatterie macht gemäß WLTP-Prüfverfahren bis zu 85 km rein elektrische Reichweite möglich und mit einer Tankfüllung und voller Batterieladung bis zu 831 km insgesamt. Ein weiteres technisches Highlight ist das integrierte Wärmepumpensystem, das den Stromverbrauch auch bei eingeschalteter Klimaanlage reduziert und die Batterieladung selbst bei winterlichen Bedingungen möglichst hochhält.
