00:00Hey guys, it's Sydney Sweeney and I'm going to give Marie Claire a personal look into my
00:05little library. Welcome to Shilf Portrait. So some of the books I've read recently during quarantine
00:17have been We Used to Be Friends by Amy Spaulding, which is about two friends who kind of lose their
00:26friendship and it's told in dual timelines and so you kind of put the different pieces together
00:31as you read. I love reading either in my bedroom or sitting outside somewhere. I constantly read
00:42The Care and Keeping of You. It's a book where girls learn about their changing bodies and like
00:49growing up and I was obsessed with reading it and trying to figure out what the hell was going to
00:53happen. Again But Better by Christine Michio. It's about a girl who lies to her parents to follow
01:02her dream of becoming a writer in Europe and she falls in love with a boy but things don't go the
01:09way that she wants and she's forced to go back home but then like we all wish that we could do she gets
01:16a second chance and she meets a fairy godmother and she gets to retry everything and do it all again
01:24for better. They Wish They Arrest by Jessica Goodman. This is something I highly recommend and not only
01:32is it an amazing book but I am actually going to be producing this into a limited series with my company
01:3850-50-50 films and I partnered with Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross's Crazy Rose. I'm going to play
01:45Jill and Halsey will be playing Rachel so it's a great read. It's a murder mystery and it's a lot of fun.
01:55I have definitely thought about writing a book. I constantly try to write the first sentence and I
02:01don't really know where to start. When I read I always have a notebook with me and I write in the
02:06notebook and I never really write in the actual book though. I would love to see The Grace Year by
02:13Kim LeJet and turned into a movie. It's like a YA handmaid's tale and it's unbelievable.
02:24Down on my bottom two shelves I have books that I read in school. They are all books that I felt like
02:33I really learned something from and I hope that I will read sometime again. There's this one book
02:38called Entrepreneurship and it's basically teaching and helping you learn how to manage ideas within your
02:49own organization or within yourself and I really felt like I learned a lot from this and it's a great read
02:57and for anyone doing anything. I think you can take away a lot from it.
03:04Thank you for watching Shelf Portrait and don't forget to watch Nocturne.
