Transkript
00:00Hi again, everyone.
00:04This is Nintendo Treehouse Live, Nintendo Switch 2.
00:07For those just joining in, my name is Teresa.
00:10I'm joined here by Dutch and Sam.
00:12And we're here to show a really exciting experience
00:16that is called Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
00:20So I'm going to punt it off to Dutch
00:22so he can kind of walk us through what's going on so far.
00:26All right, let's hop into it.
00:27I'll take a look here.
00:28So we can see we're just kind of dropped in here
00:30on this enormous Joy-Con 2.
00:33And you just picked your avatar.
00:35I did, yes.
00:35So we're just dropping in.
00:36My avatar here.
00:37I actually can't tell.
00:38I haven't decided if, like, I'm tiny or if the system is huge.
00:41I don't know.
00:42I can't really tell.
00:43So we can kind of walk around on the surface
00:45and see these signboards.
00:47It's set up kind of like a,
00:49almost like a tech expo or something.
00:51We've got all these friendly people here
00:52ready to tell us all about the new hardware,
00:54give us all this information.
00:56All the parts are labeled with these little signboards.
00:59So we can kind of explore around and see all the buttons.
01:04And pretty much every single piece of the entire hardware
01:08is labeled with these boards,
01:10like even pieces that you might not even think about
01:12or realize are there.
01:13So it's kind of fun to wander around.
01:14Yeah, so this is new.
01:16Yeah.
01:17Yeah, so here we see the mouse feet.
01:19So we saw in the Direct and some of the segments so far
01:21that both of the Joy-Con 2 controllers can be used as a mouse.
01:27So they have the mouse feet there
01:29to kind of glide along the surfaces.
01:32And then over here, this is where the mouse sensor is.
01:36So it says these sensors check the surface they're on
01:38to work out how they're moving.
01:39So that's where all that mouse technology is located.
01:44There's a lot of new stuff to get acquainted with here.
01:46Yeah.
01:47Yeah, and we've got the top over here to this
01:49because this is the SL and SR buttons right here.
01:52So those are kind of redesigned.
01:53They've got a different shape and feel to them
01:56compared to the Switch console.
01:58But as Dutch was mentioning,
02:00this feels very much like an expo.
02:02So it's really a great piece of an experience
02:06where you can really see, learn, explore more,
02:10especially for somebody that, you know,
02:12a new piece of technology or hardware
02:14that you're not quite sure or really familiar about.
02:17This is a great interactive way for you to experience it,
02:20especially like some of these things
02:21that we're going to see a little bit later.
02:23You really want to have your own personal experience
02:26to really get an appreciation
02:28of what you're going to see and feel.
02:30And part of that is that here we see
02:32one of the components is the quiz kiosks here.
02:37And that is really like a rare look
02:40kind of behind the curtain
02:41about how this system was built,
02:43how the hardware was built
02:44and some of the design decisions that went into it.
02:47Yeah.
02:47So this is a good spot to learn about this.
02:49So this one's about the HD Rumble 2 function.
02:51And for those of you at home, pay attention.
02:53There might be a pop quiz later.
02:55All right.
02:57So again, we have a little diagram here,
02:58a little animation showing us these specific spots
03:02on the Joy-Con 2 controller
03:04and the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller.
03:07And this is where the HD Rumble 2 components are located.
03:12So we get a little cutaway diagram here.
03:14You can see those orange rectangles there.
03:17And it tells us that these are custom built
03:19from the ground up.
03:20So this is not the same Rumble hardware
03:23that was in the Switch console.
03:24So they're in both controllers
03:27and they had to go do like a full customization.
03:32It's really interesting to see that diagram too
03:34because where they are positioned specifically
03:36in the Joy-Con 2 as well as the Pro Controller 2,
03:39it's right in the palm of your hand.
03:41So we'll talk a little bit more about that too.
03:43Let me see that we use magnets and electromagnets
03:46to shift weight.
03:47And that's how the Rumble function is created.
03:50So this is an example of one of the older Rumble functions
03:53in older Nintendo controllers.
03:55So you have a little axis there
03:57with a weight spinning around on it.
04:00But here with the HD Rumble 2,
04:03it's not spinning.
04:05It's vibrating side to side at a high speed.
04:07So it's like a different system
04:09that they're using for the HD Rumble 2 function.
04:11You've got that linear motion.
04:12Exactly.
04:13And it tells us it's the same kind of technology
04:16that you use to make trains levitate
04:17and allow them to move at high speeds.
04:20So moving it sideways makes it easier
04:23to Rumble in various ways.
04:24And you can really feel that with the hard Rumble.
04:27We'll get into that a little bit later.
04:29See how that comes across.
04:31Let's go over here.
04:33See a little bit more.
04:36So it has a range of intensity.
04:38So it can be weak, like a gentle touch,
04:40or much stronger.
04:42And at the maximum strength,
04:43the sensation will be much stronger
04:45than the HD Rumble on Nintendo Switch.
04:46And I can attest to that.
04:47Having these in my hands right now,
04:49at the peak, it is a lot more intense
04:52than on the Switch system.
04:53It feels very satisfying.
04:54It does.
04:55It does.
04:56But it's not going to be at that full intensity
04:58the whole time you're playing a game.
05:00They'll save that maximum intensity
05:02for certain moments where it makes sense.
05:05So it's weak or strong,
05:07and the maximum power won't be constant.
05:10So you get that variation,
05:11which is going to be very interesting,
05:13especially on how different experiences
05:16or games apply and use the HD Rumble too,
05:19and how you can get that experience.
05:21And this part is telling us
05:24about where they're located.
05:25So you can see that orange rectangle
05:27down there at the bottom.
05:28And they've been designed
05:29to transmit the sensation directly,
05:32no matter how you're holding them.
05:34I think this is interesting.
05:34We get a little blown out view
05:36of the different components of the controller.
05:39And they've located it in the spot,
05:43on that spot on the back,
05:44on that last piece on the right.
05:46And that's because that's the part
05:48that has the most contact with your hand
05:49while you're holding the system.
05:51So you can kind of see right down here.
05:53Yeah, it's really thoughtfully designed
05:55where, like, the bulk of your hand
05:57contacts the controller.
05:58Mm-hmm.
06:01And these are those little design insights
06:03that you don't always get to see
06:05with Nintendo products.
06:07Exactly.
06:07Outside of something like
06:08an Ask the Developer article
06:10where you get a little bit more
06:11of the designer's thinking,
06:13there's a lot of that featured
06:14in Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
06:16Yeah.
06:18All right, so let's make our way down here.
06:20We're going to go to this little cube over here,
06:21cube with a little 0-1 on it.
06:24We're going to talk to this person.
06:26And they're going to tell us
06:27this is a tech demo.
06:29So this isn't really like a mini game, per se.
06:31But we'll jump in here.
06:32This is going to be about
06:34that HD Rumble 2 function.
06:36So we're going to see what it's capable of
06:37and what it's like.
06:40For those of you at home,
06:42what you'll see is what we're seeing.
06:45But Dutch here is actually able to feel
06:48the experience of the HD Rumble 2.
06:51So again, just to reinforce that,
06:53you really need to get hands-on
06:54to really get the full experience.
06:56Yeah, we could try and communicate
06:58the feeling as best we can.
06:59But really, this is something
07:01you've got to get in your hands.
07:02Yeah.
07:03All right, so we've got our little checklist
07:04of things that we can do on the side,
07:06on the right side.
07:07And if we check off everything on that list,
07:09then we'll get a medal.
07:10That's a little silhouette there.
07:11And then we can use that
07:12to unlock other parts of the game.
07:14So let's hop in.
07:15So I've got my maracas here.
07:19I can kind of shake them around.
07:21And right now, you know,
07:23obviously you're watching us,
07:25so you don't have them in your hands.
07:25But I'll try to describe it for you.
07:26So we've got kind of like a light,
07:29it feels like there's like tiny,
07:31like plastic-y things inside.
07:34It's like kind of a dry feeling, I guess.
07:37If that makes sense?
07:37You can actually feel the beads
07:38that we're seeing on screen.
07:39Yeah, I can feel it.
07:40And then let's see.
07:41So we've got,
07:42we see on the bottom,
07:43we can change from beads to a rubber ball.
07:46So I'm going to change that on the left one.
07:48And like you can feel it bounce around.
07:50And I know it doesn't make sense to say this,
07:53but it feels heavier.
07:55Like obviously pushing the button
07:57doesn't make the controller heavier.
07:59But like when I bounce it side to side,
08:01it feels like the bouncing is like stiffer
08:05and like maybe a little,
08:06it feels like bouncy.
08:07It feels like it's made of rubber.
08:08But I think, you know,
08:09in the right Joy-Con there,
08:11you can feel that there are
08:12many individual objects in there
08:14all bouncing around.
08:15And you get a sense of the texture of that.
08:17Like you were saying,
08:17they feel kind of hard, right?
08:19Whereas in the left Joy-Con,
08:21you can feel that it's made of rubber.
08:24It's got a bounce to it.
08:25Yes.
08:26Yeah.
08:26All right.
08:27And then let's see,
08:28I'll change it back to this.
08:29And then the last thing on our list
08:30is to change the appearance.
08:34And I'll change that one.
08:36It's very festive here.
08:38Nice.
08:39Getting the rhythm of things.
08:41Yay.
08:42All right.
08:43So we got our medal.
08:44We finished everything on our checklist.
08:46So let's go ahead and hop out here.
08:50And let's go over here.
08:52Oh, okay.
08:53So we see,
08:54I can just open that back up again
08:55so we can take a look.
08:57We got this kid here.
08:59He wants to tell us about his 10 medals.
09:02It's good for him.
09:03Bragging rights there.
09:04Thanks, bud.
09:05I'll put this up here.
09:06So we can see up at the top
09:08we're in the tech demo section.
09:09So we did this one.
09:10We've got our medal for it here.
09:12So right now,
09:13you're exploring the left Joy-Con 2.
09:16Right.
09:16Yeah.
09:17All of this is on the left Joy-Con 2.
09:18Let's go around here
09:19and talk to this person
09:21who wants to tell us about
09:22the HDRumble 2 function.
09:25So this is a minigame.
09:27So we just saw a tech demo before.
09:28This one is an actual minigame.
09:31And we're going to try
09:33to use the HDRumble 2 function
09:35to find a single point on the screen.
09:40So let's see.
09:41So this one also uses the mouse control.
09:43So I'm just going to put
09:44the Joy-Con 2 controller
09:45flat down on the surface
09:47and I'm going to click it
09:49to get started.
09:51All right.
09:51So we see the orange dot
09:52in the middle there.
09:53And my job here
09:54is to move this orange dot
09:56along a single line here.
09:58And as I got close
09:59to the hidden point here,
10:00I'm going to start feeling
10:01the vibration in the controller.
10:03So I'm starting to get it
10:04over here on this side.
10:05I've got nothing.
10:06There's nothing over there.
10:07I'm going to move it this way.
10:08It's starting to get
10:09a little bit stronger.
10:09It's kind of like a pulsing
10:10kind of like a dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.
10:14And as I get closer,
10:14the speed doesn't change.
10:16It's just the intensity
10:17of the rumble.
10:18So you're trying to find
10:19the point where you feel
10:20the strongest rumble.
10:22Yeah.
10:22So I think it's starting
10:24to fade off on this side.
10:26It gets pretty strong
10:27right in here.
10:28And then it's starting
10:29to fade off a little bit
10:30on this side.
10:31I'm going to go right here.
10:34All right.
10:35All right.
10:35That's okay.
10:36Not bad.
10:3752 is not bad.
10:37Not good enough
10:38for a metal, though.
10:39Try it again.
10:40Try again.
10:40You can see those
10:41measurement markers
10:42on the top and bottom
10:43of the screen.
10:44And that gives you
10:45an indication
10:45of just how close
10:47and how precise
10:48you can get with this.
10:49It's almost like
10:49trying to find
10:50the right radio signal.
10:52Right.
10:53And I should say, too,
10:53it's not like a...
10:55It's like a gradient.
10:56Like, I can't really
10:57distinguish, like,
10:58oh, yeah,
10:58this is level one vibration,
11:00this is level two.
11:00It's, like,
11:01very gradual.
11:02And I'm thinking...
11:03I'm feeling, like,
11:03right in here, maybe...
11:06Yeah, I'm going to say
11:07right here
11:07on this little intersection.
11:09Ooh, that was
11:11a very close hole.
11:13Nicely done, Dutch.
11:15I'll give me
11:15two medals.
11:16Very good.
11:17All right,
11:17so let's go ahead
11:18and back out of here.
11:19So that's just one example
11:20of a minigame.
11:22One thing I didn't think
11:23about until a lot later
11:24is that a lot of people
11:25are familiar with using
11:26a mouse on a computer, right?
11:28But you don't have rumble
11:30in your mouse on a computer.
11:32That's true, yeah.
11:33So, like,
11:33the sensation of using
11:35a mouse with rumble in it
11:37is very different
11:38than using just
11:39a traditional computer mouse.
11:40Yeah, it kind of opens up
11:41a whole new, like,
11:42type of input
11:43that you can use
11:43when you're using
11:44mouse controls for the game.
11:45Yeah.
11:46So we see here
11:47we've opened up
11:49another level of difficulty
11:50for this minigame,
11:52but we need eight medals
11:53to access it.
11:54And we can see
11:54in the upper left-hand corner,
11:55we only have three,
11:56so we can't go
11:57to that one right now,
11:58but...
11:59The experience definitely
12:00encourages you
12:00to keep exploring
12:01and then come back
12:02and see what's opened up.
12:04Yeah.
12:04And you can see
12:05by the medal counts
12:05that there's a lot
12:07to explore.
12:07Yeah.
12:07Yeah.
12:09All right,
12:09so here's another minigame
12:11that focuses
12:11on the mouse controls.
12:13I'm going to hop in here,
12:15and this one is all about
12:16dodging the spiked balls.
12:18I'm going to take
12:19the left one off
12:20because this gets
12:20pretty intense here.
12:23All right,
12:23so let's start.
12:24This one starts off
12:25in survival mode.
12:27So I'm basically
12:28just trying to dodge
12:29the spiked balls
12:30for as long as I can.
12:32And again,
12:32mouse control,
12:33so I just set the
12:34Joy-Con 2 controller
12:35down on the table
12:36and hop in.
12:37So I've got my little
12:38spaceship here,
12:40and I'm just flying
12:40the spaceship around
12:41with my mouse controls,
12:43and I just got to
12:44stay out of the way.
12:45It's easy, right?
12:47Well,
12:48let's see, Dutch.
12:49So the longer you survive,
12:55the more intense
12:56it seems to be getting.
12:57But also,
12:58they don't let you
12:59get too comfortable
13:00in any one place.
13:05If you stay in the same
13:06place for too long,
13:07the spiked balls
13:08will start hunting you down.
13:09Yeah,
13:09it's almost like
13:10they're magnetized
13:11towards you,
13:12and they just want
13:13to end you.
13:13That's how it feels,
13:14so I'm glad that you
13:15justified my feelings
13:16by pointing that out.
13:19Okay,
13:20oh boy.
13:21I believe in you,
13:22she got those.
13:26You've already beaten
13:27your previous time.
13:28Yeah,
13:28yeah.
13:29All right,
13:29we've got the green
13:29now,
13:30starting game,
13:30the green ones.
13:32So the longer
13:33that you survive,
13:34the more obstacles
13:34get added,
13:35so the challenge
13:36keeps going.
13:37Get out of here.
13:39Nice work,
13:40nice work.
13:41I mean,
13:41it is really responsive,
13:43so you can kind of,
13:44you can get yourself
13:46out of some pretty
13:46sticky situations here.
13:48Whoa.
13:49Serpentine.
13:50Serpentine.
13:51All right,
13:52oh,
13:53nice work.
13:56Oh,
13:56the red ones.
13:58Oh,
13:59so now we got
14:00the red.
14:00Oh,
14:01no.
14:02Oh,
14:02but you did it.
14:03You got all three.
14:04Nicely done.
14:04All right,
14:04we got three medals.
14:06Woo,
14:07I'm sweating.
14:07All right.
14:08All right,
14:09well,
14:09that's,
14:09yeah,
14:09that's a little
14:10taste of it here.
14:11So then,
14:11let's take a look.
14:12So we got those
14:13three medals.
14:13So now we have
14:15five medals total.
14:19We've got six.
14:21Oh,
14:21six?
14:21Oh,
14:21okay.
14:25Six.
14:26All right.
14:26He says he has 15,
14:27so all right,
14:28let's go.
14:29He keeps hunting you down
14:30just to brag
14:31how many medals he has.
14:33Yeah.
14:33All right,
14:34so we have enough medals
14:35now to access
14:37the next level
14:38of the difficult here
14:38that unlocks
14:39with two medals.
14:40So it's the same concept.
14:43I'm going to be
14:43flying my little
14:44UFO around,
14:46but instead of
14:47just survival this time,
14:48the objective is
14:49to pick up
14:49as many stars
14:50as I can.
14:54So let's jump in here
14:55so we can see
14:57over here
14:58for one medal,
14:59we've gone for 20.
15:00For two medals,
15:01we've got to get 40.
15:02So let's see
15:03what we can do.
15:04Good luck.
15:05Thank you.
15:07I believe in you.
15:08He just got warmed up
15:10in the last round.
15:11Yeah.
15:12You've got to get
15:12these first ones
15:12so it's the low-hanging fruit here.
15:16But then eventually
15:17you've got to kind of
15:18risk it a little bit
15:20to pick up
15:20some of these other ones.
15:22Yeah,
15:22sometimes these stars
15:23will appear
15:24right on top
15:25of the spike ball
15:26and it's pretty precise.
15:27You can get
15:28just into the corner of it
15:30and collect the star
15:31without hitting the spike ball.
15:33It's a little bit
15:33of strategy too
15:34because sometimes
15:35it's just not worth it.
15:36Just go for
15:36whatever it was.
15:38But the longer
15:40you stick around
15:41the progressively
15:42more difficult it gets.
15:43Oh my god.
15:46Oh!
15:49That got hard.
15:50Hey, we got both of them.
15:52Nice.
15:52All right.
15:53Oh man.
15:54That's intense.
15:55Well, I could sit here
15:56playing this one all day
15:57and I have before
15:58but...
15:59They're like arcade experiences
16:01where you just want
16:02to keep playing
16:02and get a higher
16:03and higher score.
16:04Yeah.
16:04For this one
16:08you were using
16:09just one mouse
16:11but later
16:12these minigames
16:13get progressively
16:14more difficult
16:14and later
16:15they introduce
16:16using two
16:17at the same time
16:19and that broke
16:20my brain
16:20when I had to do it
16:21for the first time.
16:22It's like
16:22you're used to
16:23using a computer mouse
16:24right with your
16:25dominant hand
16:25but when you have
16:27to use two
16:27at the same time
16:28there's something
16:29happens.
16:29It's a test
16:30of eye hand
16:30coordination
16:31at maximum.
16:32And we did unlock
16:33another level
16:34of difficulty there
16:35but we need
16:3529 medals
16:36for that one
16:36and we're not
16:36even close.
16:37So let's go ahead
16:38and come over here
16:39and we're going
16:40to make our way
16:40to area B
16:41and this person
16:43is going to check
16:43and make sure
16:44that we've got
16:44all our stamps.
16:45You get the stamps
16:45from finding
16:46the hidden
16:48sign boards.
16:51Right.
16:51And I should mention
16:52that we're coming
16:53into this segment
16:53with some pre-existing
16:54save data
16:55where a lot of that
16:56stuff had already
16:57been collected.
16:58A lot of those stamps
16:58had already been collected.
16:59when you experience
17:01the game for yourself
17:01you'll need to do
17:02all that on your own.
17:03Correct.
17:03But we're starting
17:04fresh here
17:05so all the sign boards
17:05are hidden
17:06we've got to go
17:06looking for them
17:07so we're going to find
17:08maybe something down here
17:09we're going to see
17:10the air intake
17:11on the lower left
17:12over here
17:12get my stamp here
17:14there's a nice
17:14little satisfying
17:15vibration
17:16with that effect there.
17:18Oh this is fun.
17:20Nice little
17:20personal ice skating ring.
17:24Let's make our way
17:25over to the other side
17:26here
17:27because I do want
17:27to take a peek
17:28let's come over here
17:30we'll take a look
17:30at the map
17:31so open this up
17:34and you can get
17:34an overview
17:35so on the map menu
17:37on the left side
17:38you've got all the stamps
17:39so over here
17:40we can see all the ones
17:41that are unlocked
17:41on the left
17:43Joy-Con 2 controller
17:44where we were
17:44and you can get
17:45a little bit of an idea
17:46of just how much
17:47there is to do here
17:48right
17:49the tech demos
17:51this is the one we saw
17:52we've got a couple
17:53on this map
17:54that we can see
17:54in this area
17:55the mini games
17:57that we saw
17:58with the dodging
17:59the spike balls
18:00and everything
18:00and then over here
18:01these are the insights
18:03so that's the sign boards
18:04where we learned
18:05about the HD Rumble 2
18:06and then this is the map
18:07of the each area
18:09so the left Joy-Con 2
18:10and then this is
18:12the main console area
18:13right here
18:13yeah there's a huge
18:14checklist of items
18:15to go and explore
18:16but also for those
18:18that are completionists
18:19like myself
18:19I'm definitely
18:21going to go through
18:22try to get all
18:23of those checked off
18:24so this is new
18:25for Nintendo Switch 2
18:26yeah the microphone
18:27yeah built-in microphone
18:28right here
18:28and it has some
18:29like noise canceling
18:31features here
18:32and so right now
18:34we're just scratching
18:35the surface
18:36we're just exploring
18:37on the top level
18:38but at some point
18:39you'll also be able
18:40to explore
18:41inside as well
18:42because you can see
18:42that elevator
18:43on the side
18:43and then one other
18:46nice feature
18:47of the hardware
18:47here is this
18:49USB port
18:49the USB type-C
18:51connector
18:51on the top
18:52of the system
18:53so you can use
18:53that to charge
18:54the system
18:56when you're playing
18:56in tabletop mode
18:57or you need to
19:00connect other
19:01accessories and stuff
19:02so it's nice
19:02to have that second
19:03port on the top
19:03of the system
19:04but now let's
19:05make our way
19:06over here
19:07to this tech demo
19:09we're going to
19:09take another look
19:09this is a fun one
19:11because we've talked
19:12about how
19:13this system
19:14is capable
19:14of outputting
19:154K resolution
19:16images
19:18and this is a fun
19:20tech demo
19:20for kind of showing
19:22like maybe thinking
19:23about what that means
19:24in a different way
19:24it's like a novel
19:25way of showcasing
19:26what 4K is
19:27because you can look
19:28at like a beautiful
19:29high resolution image
19:31and it looks nice
19:32but what if you took
19:34something really familiar
19:35for a lot of us
19:36like World War 1
19:38from the Super Mario Bros
19:40game for NES
19:42and what if you mapped
19:43that entire level
19:44onto a 4K screen
19:46pixel for pixel
19:47like mapped the whole
19:48thing on
19:48what would that look like?
19:50I should mention
19:50we are streaming this
19:51in 4K
19:52so if you can
19:53please watch this
19:55on a 4K display
19:56there are a lot
19:57of small details
19:57that you won't
19:58be able to
19:59appreciate
20:00without watching
20:01on a 4K display
20:02and as this
20:03particular experience
20:05specifically centers
20:06on the 4K output
20:08of Nintendo Switch 2
20:09to enjoy this experience
20:11you will need
20:12to have a 4K display
20:14in order to play this
20:15That being said
20:16there's still a lot
20:17of experiences
20:17that you can play
20:18without a 4K
20:19Most all of the experiences
20:21yeah
20:21you can play
20:22without a 4K display
20:23Okay so here we are
20:24So tiny
20:25I honestly
20:26have trouble
20:27seeing this
20:27So yeah
20:29the pixel resolution
20:32of the original NES system
20:35was 256 pixels wide
20:38on the display
20:39so what would
20:40that look like
20:41if you mapped
20:43the original art
20:44that was drawn
20:45for Super Mario Brothers
20:46to a 4K display
20:48without scaling it
20:50and 4K resolution
20:51is 3,840 pixels wide
20:54so you can see
20:55as Dutch is progressing
20:56in the stage
20:57it's uh
20:58the play field
20:59is widening there
21:00and we can fit
21:01you know
21:02the entirety
21:04of Super
21:05I'm sorry
21:06dot super
21:06yes
21:07Super Mario Brothers
21:08World 1-1
21:09on one screen
21:11I'm like squinting right now
21:12it is both
21:14an impressive feat
21:15to see this entire level
21:17mapped out
21:18on the screen
21:18but also impressive
21:19to see Dutch
21:20able to complete it
21:22well don't jinx me
21:24I'm trying not to
21:25it is
21:26it's words of encouragement
21:27it is remarkably small
21:29but this
21:29this just goes to show
21:30how many pixels
21:314K represents
21:33yeah
21:33we've come a long way
21:34since the NES
21:35yeah
21:35so you can see
21:36the entire level
21:37fits on a single screen
21:39at 4K
21:40all right
21:42so we got our checklist
21:43we didn't finish
21:43all the things
21:44on our checklist
21:44but that's okay
21:45we didn't get our medal
21:46I'm just gonna have
21:47to live with that
21:48that's for the folks
21:49at home to experience
21:50it once they
21:51they get a chance to
21:52all right
21:53so let's see
21:53what else
21:54what else do we want
21:55to take a look at here
21:56maybe
21:56this is
21:58this is another
21:59fun experience here
22:00that's a
22:00that's a frame rate
22:01mini game
22:01oh yeah
22:02you can see the
22:03yeah you can see
22:04the ball
22:04changing its frame rate
22:06all right
22:08but we have
22:09some homework
22:10to do
22:10some
22:10some assignments
22:12so let's go ahead
22:13and make our way
22:15back
22:15to the quiz
22:17Teresa did
22:17kind of half promise
22:19us a quiz
22:20at the end
22:20I want that quiz
22:21so we're gonna
22:23come back here
22:23to our original
22:24quiz kiosk
22:25and talk to this
22:26person
22:27and they're gonna
22:29give us a quiz
22:31about the insights
22:32that we saw earlier
22:32about the HD Rumble
22:332 function
22:34all right
22:38question number one
22:39which part of the
22:40console is shown
22:41in the image
22:41so we saw earlier
22:43it is not HD Rumble
22:44it is HD Rumble
22:452
22:45that's right
22:46because HD Rumble
22:47was part of the
22:47Nintendo Switch
22:48but since we are
22:49talking about the
22:50Nintendo Switch 2
22:51it is HD Rumble
22:522
22:52so how does the
22:53weight used
22:54for the HD Rumble
22:552 feature
22:55move
22:56it spins around
22:57shakes from side
22:58to side
22:59it shakes up
23:00and down
23:00or it stretches
23:01and shrinks
23:02and we saw
23:03in the original
23:04like the older
23:04hardware
23:05it would spin
23:05around on
23:06kind of an axis
23:06yeah think about
23:07how the Rumble
23:08on like a
23:08Nintendo GameCube
23:09controller worked
23:10that was
23:10more the spinning
23:11style
23:11but this one
23:12we saw in this
23:13little animation
23:14here it shakes
23:14from side to side
23:15on kind of like
23:16that coil
23:16like a weight
23:17on a coil
23:18question the third
23:20which of the
23:20following is true
23:21of the strength
23:22of the HD Rumble
23:23feature
23:23it's always
23:24strong
23:24it's always
23:27weak
23:28or it can be
23:28either strong
23:29or weak
23:30well if you
23:30remember from
23:31the experience
23:32that you did
23:33earlier where you
23:34were kind of
23:34sweeping the
23:35frequency
23:35it increased
23:37or decreased
23:37in intensity
23:38the closer
23:39the further
23:39away you got
23:40from the point
23:40that's funny
23:41it never occurred
23:41to me to do
23:42this with the
23:42mouse controls
23:43but there you
23:44go
23:45that will allow
23:46for variation
23:47in your experience
23:48in the Joy-Con
23:512 controllers
23:52what are the
23:53HD Rumble
23:542 parts
23:55attached to
23:55the plastic
23:56on the front
23:57number one
23:58the middle
23:58part
23:59number two
23:59or the plastic
24:00on the back
24:01or they're not
24:02attached to anything
24:03they're just hovering
24:05in space
24:05they're just
24:05hovering loose
24:06in there
24:06yeah and we
24:07remember we saw
24:08this is number
24:08three it's kind
24:09of on this
24:09little waffly
24:10area down there
24:11I think that's
24:12the technical term
24:13the waffly area
24:14and it's located
24:16there because
24:17that's the part
24:17that has the most
24:18contact with
24:19your hand
24:19where it's going
24:20to be held
24:20so that's where
24:20you're going
24:21to feel it
24:21the most
24:22so we're going
24:23to say
24:23three plastic
24:24on the back
24:24let's see
24:25how we did
24:25hey
24:30we did it
24:31100%
24:32I kept the ice
24:32working there
24:33a little bit
24:33all right
24:35and so
24:36just to recap
24:37really quick
24:38we saw
24:38some insights
24:39here that are
24:40associated with
24:40the quiz
24:41those are spread
24:41all over the
24:42hardware
24:43we saw
24:43a tech demo
24:44with the maracas
24:45that highlighted
24:46the hd rumble 2
24:47feature
24:47we saw some
24:48minigames
24:49they used the
24:49mouse controls
24:50and the hd rumble
24:51and there's a lot
24:52more content
24:53all over the map
24:55you know
24:55we saw
24:55this
24:56this map here
24:59we can see
24:59all the different
25:00spots that there
25:00are to explore
25:01so there's a lot
25:02more that we
25:02didn't see
25:02and you can kind
25:03of see the
25:03you know
25:04the completion
25:04percentage
25:06for each section
25:06so we're just
25:07scratching the surface
25:08here
25:08exactly
25:08because again
25:09like there's
25:10so much more
25:10to explore
25:11there's so much
25:12more to just
25:13experience
25:13and you'll even
25:14be able to get
25:15inside the console
25:15to learn even more
25:16as sam mentioned
25:17it's like you get
25:18to get those
25:19dev insights
25:20in the palm of your
25:21hand literally
25:21so
25:22and you might
25:23think that you
25:24know everything
25:24there is to know
25:25about nintendo switch
25:262 because it
25:27looks so familiar
25:28to nintendo switch
25:30but even things
25:31that existed
25:32on nintendo switch
25:33like hd rumble
25:34have been redesigned
25:35for nintendo switch
25:362 so there's a lot
25:37of new stuff
25:37to learn
25:38yeah for sure
25:38well thank you
25:39again guys so much
25:40for walking us
25:41through and thanks
25:42everyone for tuning
25:43in at home
25:44getting a little bit
25:45of the experience
25:46of nintendo switch
25:47to welcome tour
25:49next up is
25:50dragon drive
25:51this segment has
25:52been recorded
25:53previously but we're
25:54going to air it
25:55to you live
25:56so just stay tuned
25:57and we'll see you
