00:00Checking in on the home front in his Sydney electorate.
00:07So you see yourself long term?
00:09Yeah, I can't see any other job where it's just as rewarding.
00:14The man hoping to keep his job for a little longer.
00:17Welcome to my hood.
00:18Promising a billion dollar boost to mental health services nationwide.
00:23We want to provide more support for more people in more locations.
00:27Under the plan, Labor's promising dozens of new and upgraded mental health centres
00:32offering free walk-in care.
00:34And for younger Australians, an expansion of headspace services.
00:38More complex needs are to be met through a new network of youth specialist care centres.
00:44And acknowledging chronic understaffing in the sector,
00:47another 1,200 training places for mental health professionals.
00:51We are facing a youth mental health crisis around the world.
00:54Two out of five young people need professional help.
00:57It's a shocking figure.
00:59There's roughly about the same investment at this election by both parties into mental health,
01:04and I think that's a great thing.
01:05The Coalition's plan would see the number of subsidised mental health sessions doubled
01:10from 10 to 20, and a new National Institute for Youth Mental Health set up

01:30I must be ageing in this campaign.
01:32I don't think the face ID is working anymore.
01:35..is what divides the two sides.
01:37Is Australia heading into recession?
01:39Well, it is under Labor.
01:40Can you explicitly rule out a recession?
01:43Look, we have, as a government, continued to see the economy grow.
01:52Recession isn't the only measure of the disorder Donald Trump's tariffs are causing.
01:57He's managed to give both sides bleak material to work with in this campaign.
02:02In Labor's case, it's using the benefit of incumbency to swing into full crisis mode.
02:08The Treasurer will tomorrow call a meeting of all major economic agencies,
02:12from the Reserve Bank to the banking, share market and competition regulators,
02:17to check all are prepared for whatever shocks may come.
02:21Miss Albany, you say you care about young people!
02:24You are condemning young people like me to a lifetime of climate disasters!
02:30Shocks and interruptions come in many forms.
