Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking the quashing of FIRs transferred to the Khar Police Station. These cases were filed over allegedly derogatory remarks made against Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Kamra contends that the FIRs are baseless and violate his right to free speech. In his plea, he has also requested that online ticketing platforms either refrain from delisting him from the artists' lineup or provide access to the data of viewers who have watched his shows over the years. Kamra argues that the action against him is part of a targeted attempt to silence critical voices in comedy. The court is yet to hear the matter.
