00:00A blockbuster deal now done in Major League Baseball.
00:04Despite both sides feeling a little bit apart throughout most of the winter,
00:09and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. telling everybody,
00:11I'm not negotiating during the actual season with the Toronto Blue Jays.
00:16Last night, a deal has now been brokered, and a big one at that.
00:2014 years, $500 million, no deferrals.
00:25Vladdy Jr. gets his bag from the Blue Jays, and more than likely,
00:29will remain in Toronto for the entirety of his MLB career.
00:33Yeah, good move for Toronto.
00:35You have to do this.
00:36You also look at a team in your division, the Boston Red Sox, that for some way,
00:40shape, or form, over the past five to six years, let superstar after superstar
00:44leave town at that point.
00:45That's not what you're supposed to do.
00:46You need an anchor for your franchise, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
00:49is that guy, absolutely beloved in that city, and rightfully so, and deserving.
00:54And it was affecting his play.
00:56The notion I love is, I'm not negotiating during the season,
00:59knowing that every single day that goes by, you're trying to say,
01:02I need a home run today, I need a double today, I gotta look at my statistics.
01:05Now you can just go back to playing baseball, and be an MVP caliber player,
01:09and the best player on the Toronto Blue Jays, cuz the financials are handled.
01:13Now you just gotta get back to your winning ways,
01:14or should I say your home run hitting ways, on the dice.
01:17Yeah.
