00:00I think each and every one of us has been fascinated about space, maybe even imagining
00:07to become an astronaut one day.
00:09I'm really fortunate to take my interest to a whole nother level by being involved in
00:15research related to space.
00:16So as all of us are well aware of the significance of climate change and the impact that it is
00:22having on all of us around the world.
00:25The World Health Organization even called climate change the single biggest health threat
00:30to humanity.
00:32And related to this, air pollution is the cause of the highest number of premature deaths
00:37around the world on an annual basis.
00:40We are all experiencing and living through the consequences of climate change where we
00:45are now seeing these increasing incidents of climate change related natural disasters,
00:51increasing number of infectious disease outbreaks.
00:54We're also experiencing extreme weathers with these increased rainfalls and floodings
00:59that have been taking place.
01:02So my research was published in the Journal of Climate Change and Health, and it looked
01:07at the role that space and space technology can play in addressing climate change, as
01:15well as tackling the related global health issues.
01:20Well I'm really excited to discuss my latest research that was very recently published
01:25in a world leading journal, the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.
01:29International collaboration in space is extremely crucial to the extent that majority of the
01:34countries around the world would have not been able to send their astronauts to space
01:38without it.
01:40Additionally, collaboration is also extremely essential for the future of space exploration
01:45where we're now looking at going back to the moon and then eventually Mars.
01:50So we were really looking at how space and the space sector itself have been working
01:56together towards a shared goal, a common vision, despite all the geopolitical tensions around us.
