00:00The government categorically denies the claim that Malaysia has imposed 47% tariff on U.S. imports into Malaysia.
00:08We don't agree with the basis for calculating this tariff and we are seeking clarification.
00:13In fact, this morning, the ambassador of the United States came to MITI and we seek clarification on how this number was derived.
00:22This inaccurate basis for calculation has resulted in Malaysia being imposed this retaliatory tariff of 24%.
00:31So far, as from my understanding, there's no retaliatory tariff being imposed by countries of our members of ASEAN.
00:39And as I said, we have a 10th of April, we have a discussion. We'll discuss with them, with my colleagues, on the next step forward.
00:48I think two wrongs don't make a right and it's important that we remain calm because anything that will result in trade war is not for the benefit of the global economy.
