A 26-year-old MBA student from Surat was arrested for forging Aadhaar and Permanent Account Number (PAN) cards using fake stamps and the letterhead of BJP MLA Kishor Kanani (Kumar) from the Varachha Road constituency in Gujarat.

00:00This is Deepak Patnayak, a 26-year-old MBA student who was arrested for forging the signatures
00:09of BJP MLA Kishore Kanani, also known as Kumar, from Surat's Varacha Road constituency in
00:15Gujarat to manipulate Aadhaar and PAN records.
00:18According to reports, he had used fake signatures and the MLA's seal to alter government documents
00:23for extorting money.
00:24During questioning, Patnayak admitted to charging Rs. 200 per fraudulent application and using
00:29counterfeit seals to manipulate government records.
00:31We have found more than 21 signed sealed documents which have honourable members of the Legislative
00:38Assembly's seal and signatures on them.
00:40During the raid, the police found a cache of forged materials, signature stamps, Aadhaar
00:44cards, a printer, a computer and stacks of application forms both filled and blank inside
00:50his rented office in Surat.
00:51However, the police continued to search for additional suspects.
00:54The accused would remain under investigation.
