North Warrnambool Eagles player Victoria Grundy speaks following her side's round one Hampden league open-grade netball win against Port Fairy.
Transcript
00:00Alright Vic, a nice way to start the season with a win, happy with that?
00:03Yeah, it was good. Port Ferry were really challenging, it was a really good pit out.
00:07Felt like we had some lows and some highs, so that'll be something we'll take into training
00:11to keep being really competitive for the whole four quarters.
00:14Is that where you reckon you need to improve going forward?
00:16Yeah, just also keeping in our game. Sometimes when we get a bit rattled we just make silly mistakes
00:21like throwing balls away, breaking, all that type of stuff.
00:23So just, yeah, basically got to go back to simple play and get ball and run it out for the whole four quarters.
00:28And who impressed you from your team today? Anyone stand out or catch your eye?
00:31I thought everyone played really good. Charlotte Smets, it was her first game, she absolutely killed it.
00:35I think we've had a really good pre-season, so I think everyone played their role pretty well today.
00:40And the vibes amongst the group are pretty high?
00:42Yeah, they're good, they're good. It's going to be a really good year.
00:45A bit of a rebuilding year as well, but we've got so many great juniors coming up as well.
00:49So yeah, the vibes are really good, it's a good place to be.
00:51And happy with your first outing?
00:53Yeah, it was alright. It's my first year playing defence coming from a shooter, so I'm still definitely learning.
00:58But Basie Barlow's been a great mentor, so still learning every week, but I'm really loving it.
01:03Sounds good, well thanks for that.
