00:00The Chinese state-run news outlet reported on Thursday that three Filipinos were arrested in Beijing for alleged espionage.

00:07The incident is expected to fuel further discussions about national security and international relations.

00:22According to the report of a Chinese state-owned media outlet, the activities were conducted near military facilities and

00:29focused on military deployments

00:31allegedly under orders from an intelligence operative in the Philippines. The Filipino suspects reportedly admitted to the activities.

00:40According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry,

00:43they will strictly handle the case.

00:45The Department of Foreign Affairs or DFA has been made aware of the complaint being faced by the three arrested Filipinos.

00:54Appropriate assistance is being provided,

00:57including legal support. The DFA also conveyed to the Chinese government to observe due process.

01:04The AFP recognizes the significance of the report and is also ready to provide support.

01:11According to a security expert, the allegations should be investigated thoroughly.

01:26This could also be China's response, especially since a string of Chinese nationals have also been arrested in the Philippines for alleged espionage,
