00:00A sad day, a happy day for the fact that the pleasure personally that we live or I live
00:14this time with him, what he give us, all of us, his humanity and of course, don't necessarily
00:27tell his influence in our success in the last decade.
00:30The last two games were good and hopefully we continue in the last eight games in the
00:36Premier League and yeah, prepare today, the people rest and tomorrow we are going to prepare
00:42the game.
00:43We are going to focus game by game.
00:44We have a few games to recover from the last game and then we will have a few games to
00:51I think the focus on that department will be more the next one in the Premier League.
00:57So we want to win this game, we want to improve in the league table and especially we want
01:04to win games so we are going to have full focus on this game.
01:08I think we have bigger problems than Manchester City.
01:13They had that run in that moment but they improved, they can play in different ways,
01:20it's really hard to understand now and to think how they are going to face us.
01:24We've played 30 games now, maybe there were three or four games where the score was so
01:30clear that in the last 20 minutes it wasn't a problem anymore.
01:35Almost all of our other games have been really tight so that probably tells you as well how
01:40big of an accomplishment it is that we are 12 points clear at the moment and that we
01:45are doing so well.
01:46But because it doesn't come from itself, it's not like the team that won the league in the
01:53last four times.
01:54We have eight games to go, it's every time a challenge, starting Sunday against Fulham
02:00who are having a very good season as well, so we are not working on theories about how
02:07many points this is, this, this.
02:09We are taking the challenge of Fulham on for Sunday.
02:12It will be very special, it's a lot of history as well between the clubs, I have my own personal
02:17story which was a beautiful one as well with the manager that just came back now and is
02:24doing extremely well.
02:25I'm so happy for the club, for David as well because it's never easy to come back there
02:29for the second time, in my opinion it was the manager, the person who lifted that club
02:34to a different level and now he's on the journey to do it again once they move to a new stadium
02:39so I think it's a really nice story.
02:42I'm thrilled for Mikel because he was one of our ex-players and I think any manager
02:46is always quite pleased when they see their players go on to have careers in management
02:50or coaching.
02:51I've had a lot in my time now going into the job so I think Mikel has done unbelievably
02:59well.
03:00Has he changed?
03:01No, I think he was always a bit grumpy as well as a player and you've seen that in his
03:08management as well but I think that overall he was a competitive player, he was a really
03:14good player as well.
03:15He's done a great job for us here at Everton.
03:17Yeah, for sure it will be very tough.
03:19You see last night they lost Newcastle away but it was a tough game but I think from now
03:26on every game they're going to be tough.
03:29Now the target is to try to finish where we have been all season because I think all season,
03:36probably the first five, six months because we were second, we were there, probably the
03:41expectation changed a little bit but I think overall, all season we have been top four,
03:46top five, we have been there and we're going to try our best to finish there.
03:50It doesn't affect me, if that's what the fans feel and if they feel that I'm not doing a
03:54good job then they've got every right to express it, they pay their hard-earned, they follow
03:58the club, they're the ones that will be here long after I'm gone so it doesn't affect me.
04:06What I kind of try and focus on is the things I can control, I can't control fans, I can't
04:14control many things but I can control our football and the way we play and the way we
04:20conduct ourselves and that's what I concentrate on.
