00:00DRS, there is no doubt that a series that starts today is also going to be a priority
00:05come Sunday afternoon for one of the best sets this weekend in MLB. The Philadelphia Phillies
00:12hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers. LA trying to start a perfect 9-0. The 8-0 beginning for
00:19the Dodgers. The best ever start by a reigning World Series champ in MLB history. But the
00:26Phil's no slouch. They're 5-1 to begin this year after sweeping the Rockies, ending out that sweep
00:32yesterday with a 3-1 win. Donnie, we expect the Dodgers to probably be a favorite in 150 plus
00:38of 162 regular season games this year. This is as close of a number to a money line pick them
00:45as we have seen for the Dodgers yet. Yoshi Yamamoto and the LA Dodgers will be a slight
00:51favorite at the break at the bank, excuse me, at minus 126 total of 8. What do you expect to see
00:57tonight in Philadelphia? Got about 65 degree temperatures, no rain in the forecast. Rained
01:03a lot here earlier, but obviously that shouldn't be an issue tonight. Light wind blowing in from
01:07center field 3 to 4 miles per hour. So insignificant. So should be some decent
01:11hitting weather tonight for this game that we're anticipating. That should be great.
01:14You normally look at that 8 total with the Phillies Dodgers game in Citizens Bank Park
01:18and say, you know, what is that Shohei Ohtani going up against Zach Wheeler at this point,
01:21because how efficient and effective those offenses can be. So I normally look at that 8 and rightfully
01:26so tonight. I don't care what the handicap is. You're probably leaning towards the over because
01:30every single guy in both of these lineups seem like they can do damage. And some of the numbers
01:34already take a look at like Yamamoto is a very good pitcher. Last year, Ben, 434 batters he faced,
01:39a 135 ice or weighted on base percentage of 272. Fantastic to open the season. Again, only one
01:44start 22 batters faced lefties. He's been really good against righties have been getting the best
01:48of them and look at the Philadelphia Phillies. Most of their players around 10 to 12 at bats
01:52against right-handed pitching elevated. Iso power numbers on seven of the nine starters anticipated
01:57tonight. But when you take a look at for the Dodgers, like Lizardo's one of those guys that
02:01if the Phillies got it right with this trade and he was anywhere near as effective as he was in his
02:05first start, what a fantastic move for the Philadelphia Phillies. But you also take a
02:10look at that lineup where last year, Lizardo injured at times, not performing all that effectively
02:16left-handed pitcher, not getting even getting left-handed batters out. But now you have a
02:19lefty going up against the Dodgers. I haven't seen a lot of lefties this year and outside of bets,
02:22Edmund and tasker Hernandez, they haven't hit lefties all that. Well, do I lean towards the
02:26Philadelphia Phillies tonight as a home dog of the ballpark? Yes, Phillies are good. Dodgers are
02:30unbeaten. But if you're just looking to take a flyer in this game, boy, it's hard to take the
02:35under with these two offenses in that ballpark here. Each one around four runs sounds about
02:41right in this one. We'll play it out. I'll lean towards the Phillies getting the getting the
02:45plus 114 slight plus money and a slight lean towards the over. But betting purposes for me
02:49tonight will have any wagers. Yeah, probably not in this one, to be honest. DRS should be a pretty
02:55lovely evening in early spring on this Friday night up and down the East Coast, even in the
03:01afternoon. And we've got a lot of home debuts across Major League Baseball today, as we will
03:06share in just a little bit, not for Philadelphia. They have already been home this year, but like
03:12we will see today inside the friendly confines. Of course, that is not on the East Coast, but in
03:18the Midwest, we got a Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Dodgers off to an eight. No start.
03:24The Padres not tailing all that far behind a perfect seven and oh, they visit the Cubbies
03:30in Chicago's home opener at Wrigley. Shota Iminaga gets the start for the Cubs.
03:35Minus 164 on that money line. DRS total is not seven anymore. It's now six and a half.
03:42That can only mean the wind is blowing in at the friendly confines, huh?
03:46Yeah, legitimate chances today were a winless team in the Atlanta Braves. We'll talk about
03:50we'll probably get their win today. And also two teams on the road, the Dodgers and the Padres,
03:54heavy underdogs in this game, as we just saw in that graphic. And we saw the Dodgers
03:58as a slight favorite over the Philadelphia Phillies, but you're right about that.
04:0147 degrees in Chicago, wind blowing in about double digits. Not exactly the best hitting
04:06environment, but if there was a way to attack, it's probably not going to be with the Cubs
04:09pitcher on the mound. It probably is going to be Vasquez here for the San Diego Padres.
04:14Last year, 434 total batters. He faced a 169 ISO, which is right on average, which isn't bad,
04:19but a slightly higher weighted on base percentage at 360, which included to left-handed
04:24batters who really got the best of Vasquez. So if I'm looking to attack the lineup tonight,
04:28and if I do want to have a, let's just say a couple of hitter props in there,
04:31Hap would be a switch hitter out of the Lido spot. Hold that lefty tonight. Kyle Tucker has
04:35been on fire. Hold that lefty there. You take a look at Michael Bush, the middle of the lineup,
04:38Pete Crow Armstrong. There are some lefties in the lineup, which is the way I would attack.
04:42But again, 47 degrees, that's already cold. Some wind chills, what? In the low 40s,
04:47wind blowing in, it's Wrigley. That's usually a great hitting environment, but maybe not tonight.
04:52I do agree. The Cubs could be the favorite, but it's just hard, man. When you are playing early
04:56April games in cold, windy conditions, it's not always the best feeling here for the batters. But
05:01again, look at the lefties for the Cubs. If you want to try to make some money in that game tonight.
05:06Yeah, DRS, not exactly a true feeling of spring in the windy city and yet the home debut,
05:12of course, at the friendly confines. The Atlanta Braves off to a winless 0-7 start.
05:17As we have shared, no team has ever started 0-7. It made the Major League Baseball postseason,
05:23but now the playoffs are expanded and Atlanta entered the year with the second best price
05:28to win the National League pennant. Not during the day, but at least the home debut in the A
05:33for the Braves as they host the Miami Marlins. Spencer Schwellenbach gets the start for Atlanta,
05:39minus 245 on that money line against the Miami Marlins. The odds makers expect Atlanta to pick
05:45up its first victory of the year. Does Donny right side agree? Yeah, a little home cooking.
05:50We talked about some of these cooler temperatures in the East Coast here and certainly in the windy
05:53city of Chicago. Warmer temperatures in the big eight tonight, 79 degrees at first pitch.
05:57There is a slight wind blowing in from right field about six to seven miles an hour. Shouldn't have
06:01much of an impact, but this is one of those games you look at. Do you want to lay to minus 245?
06:05Probably not. Do I think the Braves do win this game? Absolutely. I'd look more and I'm not a
06:09run line guy, but minus one and a half runs here. Max Meyer last night, talented young pitcher
06:14struggled last year through his 250 batters, struggled in his first start against right
06:17handed batters. If there is a game that the Braves sort of circle the wagons and say,
06:22this has to be a win or we might not win a single game the rest of the season as I'm being
06:27fastidious. This looks like the night where the Braves flight of victory bats come alive.
06:31Six, one, six, two final. That's what I'm looking at tonight down in the big A for the Braves.
06:36A lot of home openers today in Detroit, in Boston, at Fenway, at city field for the New York Mets,
06:42the Pittsburgh Pirates will host the Yankees in the first game this year inside PNC Park.
06:48A really good day of baseball, 14 games on that MLB card.
