Lakas-CMD congressional bet in Albay denies owning resort in one town

Former Ako Bicol Partylist lawmaker and Lakas-CMD congressional candidate Christopher Co of the second district of Albay denies ownership of a beach resort in Barangay Alimsog, Sto. Domingo in the province but admits to having one in Bacacay, a town adjacent to Sto Domingo. Tabaco City Mayor Krisel Lagman accused Ako Bicol party-list lawmakers Elizaldy Co and Raul Angelo Bongalon of diverting P1.12 billion in the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) intended for development projects in the first district of Albay to P750-million infrastructure projects leading to a beach property owned by the Co family.

00:00Beach Resort in Alimsog
00:02because my beach is in Bacacay
00:06Alimsog was started by his father
00:10in fairness to him, it was a good project
00:18the problem is, when I got there
00:21the road was on the top
00:25there were a lot of people on the top
00:28that's why when I sat down
00:31it's been a long time since I was with him
00:34when I sat down, I said to him
00:37I said, Choydsel, Manong
00:40the road opening that you're doing in Alimsog
00:45can we move it down?
00:48he said, why?
00:49because there are a lot of people on the top
00:52even the motor, there's a U-turn
00:55it's not just a U-turn, it's a really high U-turn
00:59and you need to turn 360 degrees
01:03and it's even higher
01:05that's the problem
01:07and it wasn't a good design
01:11that's why we moved it down here
01:15in Buhatan
01:17that's when Choydsel started
01:20he opened it up until Alimsog
01:23what happened was
01:25we just waited
01:27because when we opened it up
01:30the fishermen were asking
01:33to protect their boats
01:36I remember the ABS-CBN
01:39they used to help us
01:42because where can you see, it's on the mainland
01:44but it's a boat
01:46that's what we waited for
01:50and of course, we asked DP
01:54what's good
01:56even the fishermen
01:58we consulted
02:00they want a shelter for the boat
02:02if there's a storm, they can lift it up
02:04on the road
02:06it's also a breakwater
02:08not just a road
02:10it's designed for breakwater and road
02:13climate change
02:15when I was in Congress
02:17I always give seminars in Paris
02:19in Germany
02:21I was with the GMA
02:23Senator Loren Legarda
02:25the scientists always say
02:28climate change is unavoidable
02:31it means
02:33we can't change it
02:35but we can control it
02:37slowly
02:39that's why they say
02:41clean the river
02:43throw the garbage
02:45plant more
02:47plant more
02:49if there's a lot of people
02:51our garbage
02:53it's a pollution
02:55it's a fossil fuel
02:57our garbage
02:59cow dung
03:01it's an addition to climate change
03:03that's why they recommend
03:05plant more
03:07if there's a holiday, plant more
03:09that's why
03:11I haven't sat down yet
03:13I planted in Jutermal
03:15we planted
03:17in Manitou
03:19the public lands
03:21we planted there
03:23because I became a fire volunteer
03:25if we don't do anything
03:27even the pier of Legazpi
03:29we remove the garbage
03:31the fire volunteers told me
03:33why do we clean?
03:35tomorrow it will be thrown again
03:37it's like they're pissed
03:39I said let them
03:41be pissed
03:43if they see us cleaning
03:45they will be thrown
