00:00Parliament giving an approval now to the Waqf Amendment Bill.
00:03It was two days, in fact, I would say two nights of fiery debate over the Waqf Amendment Bill,
00:07both in Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, successfully passed in both houses.
00:11Now, the Lok Sabha approving the bill by a majority of 288 approvals.
00:16Out of total 245, 128 MPs in Rajya Sabha voted in favour, 95 MPs voted against the bill.
00:24So, these are the numbers coming in for both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha for you.
00:28Congress and other opposition parties still voicing displeasure.
00:31They are saying this is infringement on Muslim community and rights of minorities.
00:35J.P. Nadda, the leader of house in the Rajya Sabha and BJP president,
00:38has hit back at the opposition, accusing them of trying to create fear among Muslims
00:43and spreading misinformation.
00:48Many people of the Muslim community were greatly affected and outraged by such rules.
00:54Many examples of this can be found in the case of Mohammedan Education Society in Kolhapur,
00:59the case of Eid Gaon Maidan in Hubli,
01:01in which the Supreme Court has clearly returned the case to Hubli Darbar Municipal Corporation,
01:05the case of Aneesa Aiyasahab v. Tamil Nadu Waqf Board,
01:08the case of Telangana State v. Muhammad Muzaffar,
01:10the case of Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board v. Khwaja Khalilullah,
01:14and, Mr. Sawapati, the case of Taj Mahal has also been claimed.
01:18Now, I would like to ask, and the Supreme Court has said in its judgement,
01:21that if you bring a written statement from the time of Shahzahan,
01:24then we will believe whether there is any claim on it or not.
01:26Think about it, if the law of this time had been followed in the same way,
01:31then what would have happened?
01:33Mr. John Bittas and Mr. Manoj Jha had said a lot of things,
01:36they had said something about a thirst.
01:37They had mentioned the Brahmin stones of Odisha.
01:40In that, the Congress government was not able to inquire about the CBI,
01:43but when the mention of Taj Mahal comes, Mr. Sawapati,
01:45then I remember a thirst.
01:47When Shahzahan was in jail and used to look at that Taj Mahal from a distance,
01:51and he used to get only one bottle of water,
01:53and he asked Aurangzeb to send one more bottle of water,
01:56then you know, he refused.
01:57So, being sad, Shahzahan wrote in Farsi,
02:00Oh, you miserable, strange Muslim,
02:02who is craving for a living father,
02:05you are the worst Hindu,
02:07who is a dead father.
02:09Meaning, what kind of a Muslim are you,
02:11who is craving for a living father for water?
02:14You are 100 times worse than those Hindus,
02:16who give water to the dead father in Pitrpaksh.
02:19There was no logic with the opposition.
02:21The logic, I don't think they were believing it themselves.
02:26The public was not believing it either.
02:28Yesterday, after passing in Lok Sabha,
02:30it was confirmed that it will be in Rajya Sabha,
02:32because the happiness of the public outside,
02:35after passing in Lok Sabha,
02:36we were all seeing it,
02:38we were seeing it in the newspapers,
02:40by talking to the people,
02:41we were getting to know.
02:43We are happy that today,
02:45this historic bill was passed,
02:49125 to 92 on the amendment,
02:53and 128 to 95 for the passing of the bill.
02:58So, in any case, they had the majority,
03:00they had it in the Lok Sabha,
03:01they had it in the Rajya Sabha,
03:03but you can see the division in the country,
03:06even in terms of the numbers,
03:08because there are substantial numbers,
03:10which have opposed the bill.
03:12So, this will have political implications,
03:14and especially in respect of
03:17political parties,
03:18who have given the support to the BJP,
03:21because there is an election in Bihar coming,
03:24and of course, it makes very little difference
03:26to the TDP,
03:28because their elections are far away,
03:29but at least, historically,
03:33they will be remembered for having supported the bill.
03:36The BJP stood strongly against this bill.
03:40This is an unconstitutional bill that has been passed,
03:43and the provisions of this bill are very controversial.
03:46This is the beginning of taking over religious property,
03:50and I believe that in the coming days,
03:53they will take over the lands of the Gurudwara,
03:57they will take over the lands of the churches,
03:59they will take over the lands of Jainism,
04:03they will take over the lands of Buddhism,
04:05and they will take over the lands of the temples.
04:07Their only objective is to give their friends
04:09the lands of religious property.
04:11This is a very serious issue.
04:14I believe that this reveals the mood of the people.
04:20This is the first thing.
04:22There is no strong support in this.
04:24This has been deliberately misused by the people,
04:28not by force, but by force.
04:32Number two,
04:35I have no doubt that if a challenge is given to this,
04:40then there is a very good chance
04:43that the judiciary will consider it unconstitutional.
04:47Especially under section 26 and 25 of the Constitution.
