00:00In Venezuela, new flight carrying repatriated migrants arrived at the SimĂłn BolĂvar International
00:17Airport in MaiketĂa, in the state of La Guaira, through the Back to the Homeland Government
00:22Plan.
00:23Nations worldwide are reacting to the newly announced set of tariffs imposed by U.S. President
00:31Donald Trump on Wednesday, and a family of 12 members was wiped out in a new massacre
00:40carried out by the Israeli genocidal occupier in Gaza after unilaterally breaking the ceasefire.
00:49Hello and welcome to From the South, I am Luis Alberto Matos, from the Airsoft Studios
00:53in Caracas, Venezuela, we begin with the news, stay with us.
01:12In Venezuela, new flight carrying repatriated migrants arrived at the SimĂłn BolĂvar International
01:17Airport in MaiketĂa, in the state of La Guaira, through the Return to the Homeland Government
01:21Plan.
01:22The flight arriving from Mexico was received by the Venezuelan Minister of Interior Relations,
01:26Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, who welcomed the 313 people, among them 151 children, 102
01:34women and 60 men.
01:35In this context, Cabello emphasized that different security and child protection agencies, as
01:40well as medical agencies, were present at the airport.
01:43The flight is part of the government's commitment to the safe return of con-nationals amid the
01:48massive deportation campaign being carried out by the U.S. administration of Donald Trump.
01:58Meanwhile in El Salvador, experts and activists denounced that the Trump and Bukele administrations
02:03had been violating international human rights law by withholding information about the Venezuelan
02:08citizens kidnapped in that country.
02:11Journalist and social activist Cris Tosal, with over 25 years of experience in the defense
02:15of human rights, pointed out that the Washington and San Salvador governments had concealed
02:21official data on the Venezuelans deported from the United States and incarcerated directly
02:27to the Secod prison.
02:28They further labeled such actions as flagrant violations perpetrated by both governments,
02:33which may be judged as forced disappearance, acts of torture and even extrajudicial execution
02:39An Argentine president, Javier Mele, will face a class action lawsuit in the United
02:48States for his involvement in the Libra cryptocurrency scam.
02:53The former federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice, Timothy Treanor, will file the
02:58class action lawsuit in federal court in New York.
03:01The president is accused of being a necessary participant in the fraud involving the Libra
03:06cryptocurrency, which was promoted on February 14.
03:10The complaint alleges that he was instrumental in manipulating the market, causing an estimated
03:15$250 million loss to investors.
03:19The former prosecutor argues that the president's influence and his public announcement were
03:23crucial.
03:24The lawsuit not only seeks justice for fraud and market manipulation, but will also invoke
03:28the RICH Act, which targets organized crime activities.
03:36In Myanmar, on Thursday, the second batch of disaster relief supplies from the Chinese
03:53government arrived in Yangon as part of eight efforts following the recent earthquake.
03:58The package included tents, blankets, biscuits, bottled water and other essential materials.
04:03The first batch of relief supplies offered by the Chinese government reached Myanmar
04:06on Sunday.
04:07In this context, it is worth highlighting that multiple Chinese rescue teams have arrived
04:11in the country's disaster-hit areas, working with local responders to search for survivors.
04:17The 7.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the nation on Friday has reportedly left a death
04:22toll of 3,085, with 4,715 people injured and 341 reported missing.
04:52Welcome back.
05:08U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will apply reciprocal tariffs to several
05:13countries.
05:14The president threatened that these nations would have to produce their goods in the U.S.
05:18to reduce tariffs.
05:20Trump decided to impose tariffs of at least 10 percent on all countries of the world and
05:24higher percentages on partner countries, declaring a trade war on the world with the highest
05:29import taxes in a century, all under the pretext of industrializing his country.
05:34During his speech, the U.S. president demonized the entire planet, blaming foreign nations
05:38for the crisis in the quality of life, services and production that the U.S. is experiencing.
05:43In addition, Trump described instruments such as the free trade agreement with Mexico and
05:47Canada as a disaster, while maintaining the narrative of criminalizing migrants using
05:51the extinct Trinidad-Agua.
05:53These announcements represent the biggest rollback of free trade in two centuries, representing
05:58a major change in global trade and economic policy.
06:06The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, dedicated a few minutes in the middle of an
06:10agenda that prioritizes the growth of the country and the rescue of Venezuelan migrants
06:14persecuted by regional extremists, to refer to the newly announced U.S. tariffs.
06:18In this regard, the head of state assured that Washington has declared an economic war
06:22on the world, with the help and alliance, in the specific case of the Bolivarian nation,
06:27of far-right leader MarĂa Corina Machado.
06:31He denounced how those radical sectors promote foreign punishments and damages against Venezuela.
06:36In this context, the president emphasized that while some imposers promote sanctions
06:40against the country, the government's economic plan for the strengthening of production,
06:44supply and export in different sectors moves forward.
06:51And on Thursday, during her morning press conference, the Mexican President Claudia
07:06Sheinbaum welcomed the exclusion of her country from the new set of U.S. tariffs imposed on
07:11several countries.
07:12Sheinbaum highlighted the good relationship her nation has built with the government of
07:15the United States, which she stressed is based on respect for their people and their national
07:20sovereignty, which she stated allowed for Mexico to avoid additional tariffs.
07:24It's worth recalling that President Trump previously introduced a 25 percent tax on
07:29Mexico's exports, but explained that Mexico would not have to pay tariffs on the goods
07:33included in the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement.
07:37In this regard, Mexican Secretary of Commerce Marcelo Ebrard added the country will ask
07:41for better conditions for aluminum and steel.
07:49In the case of Mexico, there are no additional tariffs, nor for Canada, although in the case
08:03of Canada they make some specifications.
08:10And that is good for the country, for Mexico.
08:19Although some do not want to recognize it, this is due to the good relationship that
08:24we have built between the government of Mexico and the government of the United States, which
08:29is based on respect.
08:34And Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has vowed to take strong countermeasures in response
08:38to U.S. President Donald Trump's sweeping new tariffs, which include significant levies
08:43on steel, aluminum and automobiles.
08:46On Wednesday, Carney emphasized that these tariffs would directly impact millions of
08:49Canadians and alter the global trading system.
08:52He pledged to respond decisively and vigorously to protect Canadian workers and industries.
08:57Carney's administration has already imposed regulatory tariffs on $30 billion worth of
09:02U.S. goods, including steel, aluminum and consumer products like orange juice and wine.
09:08Additionally, Carney announced plans to convene his Cabinet and the Canada-U.S. Relations
09:12Council to finalize Canada's response strategy, which may include further retaliatory actions.
09:21President Trump has just announced a series of measures that are going to fundamentally
09:27change the international trading system.
09:30Now, in doing so, he has preserved a number of important elements of our relationship,
09:38the commercial relationship between Canada and the United States.
09:43But the fentanyl tariffs still remain in place, as do the tariffs for steel and aluminum.
09:50As of this evening, the tariffs on automobiles will enter into force, and the U.S. has signaled
09:57that there will be additional tariffs in so-called strategic sectors – pharmaceuticals, lumber
10:08and semiconductors.
10:11So we're in a situation where there is going to be an impact on the U.S. economy, which
10:18will build with time.
10:19In our judgment, it will be negative on the U.S. economy.
10:21That will have an impact on us.
10:24But the series of measures will directly affect millions of Canadians.
10:31We are going to fight these tariffs with countermeasures.
10:36We are going to protect our workers.
10:40And we are going to build the strongest economy in the G7.
10:47In a crisis, it's important to come together and it's essential to act with purpose and
10:54with force.
10:55In this context, on Thursday, the government of Spain unveiled its plan to implement a
11:00$15.6 billion spending package to mitigate the negative effects of the newly imposed
11:05U.S. tariffs.
11:06We are going to deploy our plan that we have called the Trade Response and Relaunch Plan,
11:13designed to mitigate the negative impacts of this trade war initiated by the Trump administration
11:18and weave a shield to protect our economy, so that if the storm is unleashed, Spain will
11:25have a double umbrella, the European umbrella and the Spanish umbrella.
11:32This plan is going to mobilize a total of 14.1 billion euros.
11:41For his part, Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin underscored the unjustified nature
11:45of the new tariffs, touching on their negative impact on the people, vowing to reflect on
11:49our response to the measures together with their European Union partners.
11:56I deeply regret the United States' decision to impose 20% tariffs on imports from across
12:03the European Union.
12:05We see no justification for this.
12:08More than 4.2 billion worth of goods and services are traded between the European Union and
12:13the U.S. daily.
12:15Disrupting this deeply integrated relationship with tariffs and increased protectionism benefits
12:22no one.
12:24Tariffs drive inflation, hurting people on both sides of the Atlantic, and they put jobs
12:31at risk.
12:32We will now reflect with our European Union partners on how best to respond.
12:40It is important that our response is considered and measured.
12:45On Thursday, China urged the United States to immediately cancel the tariff measures
12:49imposed against it and warn of a forceful response in defense of the country's interests.
12:54Through a statement, the Ministry of Commerce denounced that the Trump administration's
12:57measures violated international trade rules and seriously harmed the legitimate rights
13:02and interests of the parties involved.
13:04Beijing demanded the repeal of the unilateral measure and to choose the diplomatic path
13:07to resolve the differences.
13:09The Chinese office assured that its partners in the United States have expressed deep concern
13:13and strong dissatisfaction.
13:15President Trump, as he did in his first term, imposed 54% tariffs on products from China.
13:25In this context, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson, He Yaron, assured these measures
13:31hinder the production and supply chains between the U.S. and other regions and called on the
13:35Western government to jointly resolve concerns through dialogue.
13:39The U.S. measures artificially sever the production and supply chains between the U.S. and other
13:47regions.
13:48This neither contributes to the so-called national security nor helps the U.S. domestic industry.
13:54It will only highlight the unilateralism, protectionism and bullying nature of the U.S.
13:59measures.
14:01The economic and trade departments of China and the U.S. have been maintaining communication.
14:07China is willing to exchange views with the U.S. on important issues in the economic and
14:11trade fields of the two countries and resolve their respective concerns through equal dialogue
14:16and consultation.

15:07Welcome back.
15:11On Wednesday, a family of 12 members was wiped out in the massacre carried out by the Israeli
15:16genocidal occupier in Gaza after a unilateral break in the ceasefire.
15:20According to the civil defense report, the family had gone to visit close relatives and
15:24within minutes of returning to their rented house, the occupying force shelled them.
15:29Witnesses confirmed that the Kaud family had survived the genocidal operation together
15:34for a year.
15:35Like all residents of Rafah, they suffered numerous displacements until this Wednesday
15:39when the occupation army killed them all.
15:45An Israel killed at least 40 Palestinians, including nine children, in less than 12 hours
15:50amid continued famine and humanitarian blockade.
15:53The shelling spread to Jabalia, Nusrat and Hanjounis.
15:56Among the targets of the Israeli attacks were an UNRWA clinic where nine children were killed,
16:01residential areas in Al-Bureij and Nusrat, and a house for a displaced person in Hanjounis
16:06with 13 killed.
16:07Meanwhile, the humanitarian blockade imposed by Israel for more than a month ago prevents
16:12the entry of food and fuel.
16:15In this regard, the Gaza Bakers Association warned about the spread of famine in the enclave
16:19after the closure of all bakeries in the south due to the lack of fuel and basic supplies.
16:25Regarding the attack on the clinic, this health care center, which was run by UNRWA before
16:33the war, was located in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, and hosted displaced Palestinians.
16:38In addition to the nine minors, at least 13 others were martyred in the Israeli strike.
16:43This latest attack brings the total number of deaths to 1,070 since the Israeli regime
16:47resumed on March 18 the genocidal invasion it has been carrying out in Gaza since October
16:522023.
16:59After more than 36 airstrikes on civilian areas in Yemen, Houthi forces responded by
17:03attacking the USS Carrier Truman.
17:06The spokesman of the Germany Armed Forces, Yair Sarri, reported the allies of the Israeli
17:11genocidal operation attacked residential areas in the provinces of Sana'a and Sa'ada without
17:16specifying the numbers or confirming that there were numerous deaths and injuries.
17:21The operation against the U.S. aircraft carrier also hit other warships in the Red Sea.
17:26The official reiterated that nothing would make them back down in their determination
17:30to support the Palestinian cause.
17:37And this Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Chief of Staff, Gergely Gulyas, announced
17:41that Hungary has decided to withdraw from the International Criminal Court.
17:45The measure was taken after the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has an
17:49arrest warrant from the Court for Genocide Against the Palestinian People, arrived in
17:53Hungarian territory on a state visit.
17:56The Hungarian Prime Minister called the order against his counterpart outrageously brazen
18:00and cynical, adding that his country firmly supports Israel and condemns any attempt to
18:05politicize international institutions.
18:12U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the permanent U.S. representative to NATO, Matthew
18:16Whitaker, arrived Thursday in Brussels to hold talks on security and defense affairs
18:21with European NATO members.
18:23European leaders will attend the upcoming meetings with U.S. officials in their attempt
18:26to defuse tensions raised by tariffs, impositions and funding cuts.
18:30Earlier on a misleading statement, Whitaker urged the alliance to prioritize peace, security
18:36and rebuilding Ukraine.
18:37Likewise, the authorities ensured NATO's vitality would rely on each ally doing their
18:41fair share.
18:42Meanwhile, U.S. President Trump negotiated with Russia a ceasefire deal on Ukraine and
18:46cut military provisions and funds to Europe.
18:49The leaders further aimed at Canada's and Denmark's territories for their riches.
18:53In addition, Trump imposed tariffs to NATO as well.
