High pressure continues to dominate across the UK with dry and clear spells for many. However, wetter and cloudier conditions are expected across the southwest and parts of south Wales before moving into Northern Ireland early in the morning. Feeling chilly, particularly in Scotland where frost is possible in rural areas. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 03/04/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Tom Morgan.

00:00Hi there. It's been another fine day across many parts of the UK on Thursday with more
00:04on the way of sunshine. But we do have a slight blip in the fine weather as we move into tonight
00:08and into Friday morning. And that's courtesy of this occluded front moving in from the
00:12south and that's going to bring a little bit of patchy rain here and there across some
00:16western areas. But you'll notice this large area of high pressure dominating the pattern
00:19still for many of us. So a bit of a wet evening across the southwest and across parts of Wales.
00:25Patchy rain moving into parts of Northern Ireland by the early hours as well. But for
00:28the vast majority of the UK, another fine and dry night to come with clear periods,
00:33particularly across more northern areas. And it's here where we like to see the lowest
00:36temperatures. So underneath those clearing skies, a frost developing across parts of
00:41rural Scotland and perhaps the north of England as well. Temperatures perhaps as low as minus
00:45four in some Scottish glens. But further south, because of that cloud around, generally a
00:49much milder night than it has been of late and temperatures in the south at least holding
00:53up into double figures. So Friday gets off to a somewhat cloudier note compared to late
00:59across many western areas. Still a few spots of rain here and there, particularly across
01:03Wales. But I think that will generally tend to fade away. And by the end of the morning,
01:09it should be generally dry across many places. And it's a lovely day on offer once again
01:13for the vast majority. Lots of spring sunshine, a bit more in the way of patchy low cloud
01:18developing perhaps across northeastern parts of Scotland, a bit of har coming onto the
01:22coast here and maybe even northeastern parts of England through the afternoon as well.
01:27But otherwise, lots of sunshine and that sunshine really lifting temperatures. So another warm
01:31day to come, particularly for western areas out of that easterly breeze. Temperatures
01:35as high as 23 degrees, so perhaps the warmest day of the year so far. But a very different
01:40story if you're on that east coast, particularly North Sea coast. Temperatures here just nine
01:44or 10 degrees, so feeling considerably cooler there in that wind. So through Friday evening
01:50and overnight, skies remain clear for the vast majority. It will be a little bit patchy
01:54low cloud forming across the Pennines and more generally around North Sea coast as we
01:58go towards Saturday morning. Further west, though, underneath those clearing skies, temperatures
02:02here falling a little bit lower and there will be a bit more in the way of a frost around
02:06as we begin the day on Saturday, particularly across Northern Ireland, parts of Wales and
02:10western Scotland. So a bit of a grey old start to the day on Saturday morning for many eastern
02:16and central parts of England, perhaps even the Midlands and Wales for a time. But as
02:20we go through Saturday morning, that cloud will tend to break up. So lots of sunshine
02:24by lunchtime and through the afternoon, blue skies and sunny for many of us, but perhaps
02:29not quite as warm as it has been. So temperatures in the south still perhaps into the high teens,
02:35even locally 20 degrees Celsius, but generally temperatures down compared to of late. And
02:39I think once again on those North Sea coasts, it will feel pretty cool in that fairly brisk
02:44northeasterly breeze. As we move into Sunday, well, there's not much change. Another glorious
02:50day, lots of sunshine and dry for all of us. Temperatures not quite as high as they have
02:54been, but it will still feel pleasantly warm in that sunshine with highs of 15 or 16 degrees.
