00:05Will the sunny weather continue?
00:07Well, mostly yes, but there's always one or two exceptions.
00:11Certainly far from sunny across Spain and Portugal,
00:13this low pressure bringing more wet and windy weather.
00:15But we're more interested in this chunky area
00:17of high pressure.
00:18That's why the weather is so fine and settled.
00:20But with the winds going clockwise
00:23around high pressure, it is drawing down
00:25the air from the North Sea.
00:27So that is going to generate quite a bit of cloud,
00:29I suspect, on Saturday morning across these eastern parts
00:32of parts of the Midlands, certainly
00:33much of eastern England, eastern Scotland,
00:35likely to be pretty dull first thing on Saturday morning.
00:39Hint of frost there across parts of Scotland, too.
00:42So a coolish start.
00:43But as we go through the day, that cloud
00:45should tend to melt away.
00:46Certainly for most inland areas, there is always
00:49the threat that some of this low cloud
00:51could stick to some of the coasts, some har and sea
00:54threat at times, particularly from Yorkshire northwards
00:56and across eastern Scotland.
00:58So it may be a little grey on some of these North Sea coasts.
01:01But for many, it is another day of sparkling spring sunshine.
01:06Still a bit of a breeze blowing.
01:08But after that chilly start, temperatures
01:10will be on the rise, not as warm as Friday.
01:12And the South likely to see temperatures
01:14getting into the maybe high teens, 17, 18 degrees Celsius.
01:18But quite a contrast.
01:20Well, we've got the breeze coming in from the North Sea.
01:21North Sea pretty cold at this time of year.
01:23Temperatures may struggle to reach double figures,
01:26and particularly if it does stay dull and misty
01:29with that har and fret.
01:31So quite a contrast in the temperatures.
01:33If we compare them to the average for April,
01:36you can see that South Wales, southern England,
01:39quite a bit above the average for the time of year,
01:41whereas that's east coast will be below average.
01:44And parts of western Scotland, you
01:46notice in these orange colours.
01:47So quite a contrast between east and west,
01:49where we see the sunshine, where we've got that breeze coming
01:52in from the North Sea.
01:53Now, speaking of the breeze, it will make a difference
01:55in the feel of the day.
01:56So these are the feels like temperature
01:58when you add on that wind.
01:59So even though we'll see temperatures in the high teens
02:02across the South, because there'll still
02:04be a noticeable breeze blowing, it'll
02:06feel more like the low teens.
02:09Now, that breeze will continue as we
02:10go through Saturday night and into Sunday.
02:13The high pressure is still around,
02:14but it does start to shift a little further south.
02:17So a subtle shift in the wind direction.
02:20Rather than coming from the northeast,
02:22more coming from the southeast.
02:24And that will shift where we see the cloud coming in
02:27through the night.
02:28So perhaps not as dull to begin with across parts
02:31of eastern England, but always like to feed some cloud again
02:35into parts of eastern Scotland, maybe across the northern isles,
02:38which will again burn back to the coast,
02:40but still may stick on some coasts.
02:43For many, though, it's another day
02:45of blue sky and lots of sunshine.
02:46The wind's a little bit lighter, but cooler air in place.
02:49So temperatures probably not as high in the South,
02:5315 or 16 degrees Celsius, but the wind won't be as strong.
02:56So those two may well compensate and probably
02:59feel pretty similar.
03:00But you will notice, again, some of these North Sea coasts,
03:03particularly with that breeze coming into Aberdeenshire,
03:06struggling to reach double digits further south.
03:09Perhaps not as cold, because the wind won't be quite so brisk.
03:12But generally, plenty of sunshine
03:14on offer through the course of this weekend.
03:16UV levels are creeping up, so take note of that.
03:19You may need the sunscreen on this weekend.
03:21And temperatures may well creep up
03:22as we go into next week, which for many schools
03:25is the first week of the Easter holidays.
