PH will not go to war over Taiwan 'unless they involve us,' says Bersamin  Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on says that the Philippines has no plans to go to war over Taiwan 'unless they involve us.' This, after Armed Forces chief Romeo Brawner Jr. urged Philippine troops to prepare for China’s possible invasion of Taiwan, amid tension over the Chinese military’s conduct of large-scale exercises in the East China Sea. 'This is nothing new since we have been discussing it for a long time due to the strong possibility of Mainland China crossing the channel between them and Taiwan to reclaim Taiwan," Bersamin told reporters during a chance interview in Malacañang on April 3, 2025. 00:49will take place, whether it will take place at all. But it's important to us that we don't sleep

00:56in our beds. That's why the context of General Brownlee's statement is just to announce something

01:03that we are prepared. All of government across here. There will be no main agency to be involved

01:15there. There will only be one response which is to give priority to the repatriation of our countrymen

01:23that are 200,000 plus. We have every asset that is needed for that. Maybe for large evacuations

01:35we need the confluence of air and water assets.

01:46No, I don't think General Brownlee meant to alarm anyone.
