00:00A case against Sean Diddy Combs has been dismissed due to illegal formality.
00:05After a woman referred to as Jane Doe filed a lawsuit in October alleging sexual assault
00:10against the rapper, U.S. District Judge Louis J. Lyman dismissed the case March 31st because the
00:16plaintiff did not refile under her real identity by March 20th, according to court documents viewed
00:22by E! News. The dismissal follows a March 6th decision that denied the woman the ability to
00:27move forward with the lawsuit anonymously. The court documents read, as of today, March 31st,
00:332025, plaintiff has not filed the complaint in her own name, nor has she sought an extension
00:38of time to do so. The document adds that following Lyman's decision, the clerk of
00:42the court is respectfully directed to terminate all pending motions and deadlines and close the
00:47case. In response to the decision, lawyers for Combs expressed gratitude and perseverance in
00:53getting the other lawsuits filed by attorney Tony Busby, who said in October 2024 he had over 120
01:00people come forward with allegations against Combs and has filed several subsequent lawsuits
01:05dismissed. Combs lawyers say in a statement, today a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed against
01:11Mr. Combs by Texas attorney Anthony Busby on behalf of an anonymous plaintiff. This is now
01:17the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety.
01:22It will not be the last. Combs lawyers add, we have seen case after case filed by individuals
01:28hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines
01:32than legal merit. The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court
01:38of law. E! News has reached out to Tony Busby regarding the recent court decision, as well as
01:42the comments from Combs lawyers, but has not yet heard back. Combs is currently in custody at
01:47Metropolitan Detention Center in New York for federal charges related to racketeering and sex
01:53trafficking. His trial will begin next month, and he has pleaded not guilty. The 54-year-old
01:58has further maintained his innocence amid all the ongoing allegations.
