00:00Rosario Dawson has no beef with her ex. In fact, the kid's actress recently shared her excitement
00:05over Cory Booker's historic 25-hour and five-minute Senate floor speech,
00:11which broke the previous record set by Strom Thurmond in 1957.
00:16In an April 1st Instagram story, the actress writes, quote,
00:19Go Cory Booker! We're so proud of you. Go sleep now. You did good. Good trouble, that is.
00:25The 45-year-old went on to repost other photos that supported her ex,
00:28whom she split with, in 2022 after more than two years of dating.
00:32Booker's filibuster, which began just before 7 p.m. on March 31st
00:36and concluded just after 8 p.m. on April 1st, had not begun with the intention to break the record,
00:42but rather outrun his own speech from 2016 when he spoke for 15 hours with Sen. Chris Murphy
00:48about gun violence. Still, he tells CNN he was hoping to speak as long as he was physically able.
00:54And while he didn't necessarily plan it, the 55-year-old was happy to best the record Thurmond
00:59set when he argued against the 1957 Civil Rights Act for 24 hours and 18 minutes.
01:05Meanwhile, Rosario, who started dating poet Nnamdi Okafori in 2022 shortly after she and Booker
01:11parted ways, has continued to support Cory throughout his career. As she wrote to him
01:16via Instagram following his 2020 re-election to the Senate, quote,
01:19To know your leadership will continue to guide us with love,
01:22brilliance, patience, grace, and effectiveness is the kind of representation and hope we need.
