00:31Malaysia was one of 49 countries hit with reciprocal tariffs by the U.S.

00:36According to an executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump yesterday, Malaysia

00:41will face a 24% reciprocal tariff effective April 9th.

00:46Other countries include Cambodia with a 49% reciprocal tariff, Laos with 48%, Myanmar with

00:5445%, Thailand with 37%, Indonesia with 32%, Brunei with 24% and the Philippines with 18%.

01:04In the executive order, Trump said it was the U.S.'s policy to rebalance global trade

01:09flows by imposing an additional ad valorem duty on all imports from the 49 trading partners.

01:16He said the additional ad valorem duty on imports from the trading partners would start

01:21at 10% from Saturday and increase shortly after to the rate specified for their respective countries.

01:29Importers of goods from Singapore, which is not among the countries facing higher duties,

01:34will be subject to the standard 10% tariff.
