A sweet dad "almost passed out" from shock when he thought he received what he thought was a late birthday present, which revealed he was set to become a grandpa for the first time. Dad Brian Wackerly had to sit down to compose himself after he opened the surprise gift from his daughter, Kassidy, at his Andover, Kansas home on September 12, 2024. Brian and his wife Kiley have always been Kassidy's biggest supporters, their daughter said, never missing a soccer game all the way through her childhood and college and still attending every game she now oversees as a coach. Having received the news of her pregnancy, Kassidy, 25, a self-confessed "Daddy's girl," could not wait to tell her father the big news. She and her husband Jake, 25, who are based in Wichita, decided to plan the surprise around her father's birthday. A few days after the big day, Kassidy told her dad that she had a late birthday present for him, which she handed to her father in a white box. Then, as Brian opened the box and saw an ultrasound of his baby grandchild, the grandpa-to-be immediately felt a wave of emotion. Having initially froze in shock, Brian then had to take a seat to compose himself, looking at one point like he was almost set to pass out, Kassidy said.
