00:00We promise you, this is not an April Fool's joke what you're about to hear.
00:04It is an actual lawsuit filed by an attorney in federal court about Diddy,
00:11and an alleged freak-off that went down in Miami in April 2015.
00:18So exactly 10 years ago, they say this was a party for Diddy's son King Combs,
00:25but all the names involved here are huge.
00:28Huge.
00:29We're talking Beyonce, Jay-Z, LeBron James.
00:35Now, all those people are just witnesses, according to this lawsuit.
00:40And strangely enough, Gloria Estefan.
00:43Gloria Estefan.
00:43The rhythm is going to get you, Gloria Estefan.
00:46Yes.
00:46And her husband, Emilio.
00:48Yes.
00:49And now, again, all witnesses.
00:51Emilio is actually a defendant in this lawsuit, along with Diddy.
00:54But here is the story as told by a man named Joseph Manzaro in this lawsuit
01:00that we obtained this morning.
01:02He says that he showed up at this party, or woke up at this party,
01:09and didn't understand how he got there, that he's insinuating clearly that he'd been drugged,
01:15but woke up and at one point saw Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan,
01:23and Gloria is saying, hey, we need to get him medical help because he's too drugged up.
01:28Get an ambulance.
01:29Get him out of here.
01:30And according to Manzaro, Emilio steps in and says,
01:34no, we're not doing that, and shoves Gloria out of the way.
01:39And then they take this guy through a tunnel from Estefan's house to Diddy's home.
01:48Now, this is on Star Island in Miami.
01:50They do actually live near each other.
01:54So that part of it is, you know, that's a fact that anybody can find.
02:00But what happened once he got into this party at Diddy's house is outrageous.
02:07And I know we're supposed to take every lawsuit seriously,
02:12because we don't know, we weren't there.
02:14I just, the Gloria Estefan part, that's just the start.
02:19How Beyonce gets involved.
02:21So listen to this.
02:22He says that at one point he's being walked around the party,
02:26and he looks up and sees Beyonce.
02:28She says, what's this?
02:30What's this all about?
02:31Why is this half-naked white man with a blank mask, another word for penis,
02:38mask standing here in front of me?
02:39Yeah, apparently they put on him a penis mask on his head.
02:45So he's wearing almost no clothes, according to his lawsuit.
02:49And a penis mask.
02:51And that was a jarring sight for people.
02:54And LeBron James also saw him at one point and said,
02:58y'all better do something about that.
03:02It goes on.
03:04There's more.
03:06It is one hell of a story.
03:08Yeah, look, this is one of the most shocking lawsuits I've read.
03:11If this had been the first Diddy lawsuit, our jaws would be on the floor.
03:14But there's a quality to it that sounds like almost a screenplay being written,
03:17because he says he was lapsing sort of in and out of consciousness,
03:20and he's hearing voices of celebrities throughout this lawsuit.
03:23There's obviously the mask that he says he was wearing
03:25and being degraded and humiliated.
03:27There's also a bit of a Mad Libs quality of the other defendants.
03:31There's people who have sued Diddy before.
03:32A woman named Adria English is a defendant in this lawsuit.
03:35She's been a plaintiff in another lawsuit against Diddy.
03:38So it's hard to make heads or tails of this if this is just so late in the game
03:42that it's someone who is very familiar with the people and the players in Diddy's life
03:46that they could put together a lawsuit or whether this actually happened.
03:49Or if it's something that happened and the reason that you recognize the names is
03:53they are people who were in Diddy's circle.
03:56It also mentions a guy named Brendan Paul,
03:59who you'll recall when the raids went down, was arrested by the authorities
04:04and charged as allegedly being a drug mule for Diddy.
04:09He is mentioned in this lawsuit as well and is actually one of the defendants.
04:14I will say one of the good things about a lawsuit like this
04:15is there's a lot of potential witnesses and they'd have to all be on the same page
04:19and all lying about the same thing.
04:21It's harder to do than sort of lawsuits that are built around a private setting
04:25where it's he said, she said.
04:27The guy says it happened at a party,
04:28so there are presumably people who could verify it or say it didn't happen.
04:32Yeah, and that's one of the problems.
04:34You're right.
04:35When you mention all those people, they may all have alibis.
04:39Well, Jay-Z certainly seems to have one.
04:41Yeah.
04:42So Jay-Z has mentioned that he's there with Beyoncé,
04:45but we know that Jay-Z was in New York.
04:47Yes.
04:48The night that it was supposed to be.
04:49Now...
04:49The night of King Combs of his birthday, which happens to be April 1st.
04:53Happy birthday.
04:54Is it possible that he got on a private jet afterwards in New York and flew down there?
05:00Possible, but...
05:01Yeah, I don't know.
05:02Look, these are all allegations, very wild allegations laid out in this lawsuit.
05:08As Derek said, there are elements of it that sound like some of the other lawsuits,
05:13but we have not heard a response back from Diddy at this point.
05:16Well, no, Diddy's attorneys said that...
05:18Oh, did they get to a sentence for that?
05:21...not credible at all.
05:22This complaint demonstrates the depraved lengths plaintiffs will travel to
05:25to garner headlines in pursuit of a payday.
05:28No sane person reading this complaint could credit this story.
05:32It goes on to say, basically, that he's looking forward to his day in court
05:36when he's going to get to prove all this wrong,
05:38which is something that we hear over and over again for all of these lawsuits.
05:41Because we've seen dozens of them.
05:42And remember, the federal case is the criminal case is going to go first.
05:46That starts in May, and then after the outcome of that,
05:52then all of these lawsuits that we've been telling you about for months and months now,
05:56then Diddy will start dealing with all of those.
05:58Presumably, though, if he was found not guilty in the federal case,
06:01that makes it harder for these other cases in terms of the jurors' minds,
06:06even if it legally is not supposed to.
06:08Right.
06:08Hi, I'm Tiffany from St. Louis.
06:11Currently joining you from San Francisco.
06:13I think that there might be a few truths thrown in there somewhere
06:19to some of these allegations,
06:20but this one almost seems like a fan fiction
06:24or like there are parts of it that just seem a little fabricated,
06:28you know, like word salad, all the celebrities thrown in there.
06:32And usually it comes back that they weren't even anywhere near the area.
06:37It might be a strategy by his lawyers, but who knows?
06:40Some of those quotes are hard to believe.
06:41But by the way, Gloria Estefan comes across great.
06:45Yes, she was trying to help.
06:46She's the best person in the whole thing.
06:48And by the way, we should remind people
06:49that if you want to learn more about Diddy's defense,
06:52there's this great TMZ documentary called The Downfall of Diddy,
06:56his defense, available for free right now on Tubi.
