00:00It's been a tough week for all those who follow Shrewsbury Town but here at Adams Park they
00:05have got their point, their first point under new head coach Michael Appleton and after
00:11a day where it was I suppose officially confirmed as we had Roland Witchely's open letter to
00:16supporters saying, well confirming after media reports surfaced on Sunday and then more reports
00:21on Monday, we had official confirmation and some communication from town's chairman of
00:26almost three decades that the takeover was off on a game day and in fairness with Shrewsbury
00:32coming to third place week and wonderers, probably nobody really gave them much of a
00:35chance with the rotten run of form that they're in and the amount of defeats that they've
00:38had, you know, but fair play to them, they produced, they showed a bit of everything
00:44on the day, you know, we saw Michael Appleton, he said, he said post Blues he wants his side
00:51to be braver on the ball, that was kind of, you know, the key message after that game
00:55and we saw that today, we actually, which is a surprise to see progression, you know,
01:01in quite such a short space of time, so it's a really interesting phase, you know, I suppose
01:06of development, we've seen Shrewsbury play a different way under Gareth Ainsworth, being
01:09quite direct, looking to hit the ball into the channel, chase it down, set pieces, but
01:14obviously we've seen something slightly different, perhaps we might see a little bit more, you
01:18know, whilst playing football, we might see a little bit more, you know, of an attacking
01:22threat when they come up against perhaps a side that's maybe not quite so good as Wickham
01:27with the attacking threat that Wickham have, but nonetheless they will be pleased with
01:31the way that they pass the ball around, you know, especially in the first half, not so
01:34much in the second, they did try still, it wasn't a lack of effort, but they didn't quite
01:37get it going and they didn't quite get it into the final third quite so much in the
01:41second period of this clash, but yeah, as I say, it had a bit of everything, they passed
01:47it round and then in the second half they really did put in some wonderful blocks, headers,
01:51clearances, backs to the wall, they do well here at Adams Park, I've been here three times
01:54to watch Shrewsbury Town and I haven't seen them lose once, two victories and a draw,
02:01damaging for Wickham though, obviously who are chasing automatic promotion, they would
02:05have seen the visit of bottom place Shrewsbury as a real opportunity for them to kind of
02:10get a victory on the board. At Shrewsbury they've got Cambridge at home this weekend,
02:14there's been an awful lot of bad news, but you know, you must give them credit where
02:21credit is due and this evening was a steady performance from Shrewsbury and they will
02:27be very pleased about that.
