00:00I recognize my friend, Mr. Norman, for two minutes.
00:04A gentleman from South Carolina is recognized for two minutes.
00:07First of all, I rise in full support of this rule.
00:14You know, the issue we're debating today, and as I told my good friends in the Rules
00:22Committee today, you're not going to lecture me on compassion.
00:26You're not going to lecture me on, you know, being kind to the poor and the forgotten.
00:32You're the party who let 15 million illegals in this country, wantonly and deliberately.
00:40You're the party who defended a president who wasn't mentally competent.
00:45And one of the ladies mentioned Donald Trump voting from a golf course.
00:51Donald Trump could read a thank you note, unlike President Biden.
00:54Donald Trump had 77 million people that wanted to reverse the course that this country was
01:01on for the last four years.
01:03And to hear y'all talk all of a sudden about disenfranchisement for females, you know,
01:09you're always playing the victim card.
01:1177 million people rejected that.
01:14Now on the proxy voting, every one of these, our friends in the back who are listening,
01:20had to show up here.
01:22Every one of them had to physically come here.
01:27And I'm in the construction business.
01:30And you think the electrician to wire a house could vote by proxy to get the house wired?
01:37You think the dentist could vote by proxy to get the teeth fixed and fillings filled?
01:43It's a joke where with all the problems this country has, here we are talking about arguing
01:49over proxy voting.
01:51You brought the speaker voting by proxy?
01:54I voted by proxy.
01:55Your speaker, Pelosi, put it in order a few times.
02:00And no one agrees with this.
02:03The hardworking Americans go to work.
02:05When we sign off this job, as has been said, we agree to come to this chamber, 435 of us.
02:12And if you want to get into numbers, members on —
02:17Give the gentleman an additional 30 seconds.
02:20Gentleman's recognized.
02:21If you want to get into members of your party who voted coming off boats and just basically
02:26took a vacation, it's ends today.
02:28So that's why I fully support this.
02:30Mr. Speaker, I yield the balance of my time.
02:34I reserve.
02:35Gentlemen, the team has reserved.
02:37Members are reminded to address their remarks to the chair and to not refer to the occupants
02:42of the gallery.
02:44Gentleman from Massachusetts is recognized.
02:46Mr. Speaker, I don't even know what the hell he's talking about.
02:48But let me just say this.
02:49I never voted by proxy.
02:51I helped establish those rules during COVID.
02:53But I never did because I followed the rules.
02:56The gentleman voted 63 times by proxy, including one time going to a right-wing Republican
03:01political convention.
03:02That was not following the rules.
03:05So it's so much for being unconstitutional.
03:08I now yield one minute to the gentleman from Florida.
