00:00Representative Ana Paulina Luna left the Freedom Caucus over their lack of support for a bill
00:07that would allow new parents to proxy vote around 12 weeks around the birth of their
00:11baby.
00:12Does the President support that bill?
00:13I'm not sure.
00:14I haven't actually talked to the President about that bill, but I certainly can and can
00:18get a take on if he supports it or not.
00:21And one more.
00:22The D.C.
00:23Circuit ruled last week that the President can fire or hold over Biden appointees of
00:29independent agencies.
00:31Will this ruling empower President Trump to dismiss more federal employees?
00:35Well, the President has given the responsibility to his cabinet secretaries to hire and fire
00:42at their respective agencies, and they reserve that right.
00:45You saw the Secretary of Health and Human Services announced more layoffs today.
00:49This is all part of the administration's effort for a mass reduction in force in the federal
00:53bureaucracy here in Washington, D.C., to save American taxpayers money.
00:58As for agencies within the President's executive authority, the President retains that right.
01:05And we've seen there have been bureaucrats at some of these agencies that have been trying
01:09to act independent.
01:10They need to remember who they work for.
01:12It's the executive of the executive branch.
01:14You look at the United States Institute of Peace, for example.
01:17There was a little bit of a standoff with bureaucrats over there who didn't want to
01:21realize who they work for, and that is Donald Trump.
01:24And President Trump is focused on streamlining these agencies to save American taxpayers
01:28money, and he has every right to do that.
