00:00Studio Ghibli is taking over the internet by storm.
00:03Where some people are blindly following the trend,
00:06others are questioning if it poses a threat to artists like Miyazaki who developed Studio Ghibli.
00:13Today we are at Connaught Place and we will be asking people of what do they think about the trend
00:18and what do the real artists have to say on this.
00:22It has a lot of negativities but Ghibli Art Studio is a positive trend in my eyes.
00:27AI art has a separate place for itself.
00:30The real artist and the real art will always have more value than whatever the AI can give.
00:36AI is generating different types of pictures and at the same time different artists have different opinions.
01:00So there will be a proper competition between the proper artists and AI.
01:04I think it's quite fun when you see the pictures when it is converted into AI.
01:10It's really fun and it feels amazing that such type of things are happening in our country or in the world.
01:19So it's really very good.
01:21It's a nice trend, it's something positive for the social media.
01:25It has a lot of negativities so Ghibli Art Studio is a positive trend in my eyes.
01:29Yes, for now I have seen it in many places and it's been trending a lot.
01:34Yeah, it's good for the culture. For now it's very good to see such art coming up.
01:40I mean I have seen many of my friends posting and I feel it's very cute.
01:44Mainly for the couples nowadays.
01:47Like it's been a trend to soft launch their couples, partners that you can't post them, their real pictures.
01:53So you can post them in Ghibli. So it's been a very trending topic nowadays.
01:57I have come across, I pretty much liked it.
02:01But I think AI can be used a little better for this.
02:08What Ghibli Trend is trying to do is to think a little more about the artists.
02:15Because the original Miyazaki Studio have worked hard for this.
02:19They have put heart and soul.
02:21There was one scene Miyazaki took one and half year to animate.
02:26But with the use of AI, you can translate that in 10 minutes.
02:31So there should be some credit, there should be some royalty and etc. to the original creators and to the studio.
02:38But yeah, as you know, everything needs to be in the platter.
02:43So we have the same for now.
02:57No, not right now.
02:58I don't have time because I have two kids.
03:01So I don't have time and he is also busy.
03:03So we don't do, earlier I used to do.
03:05I have not but I have sent a few pictures of myself to my friends to make the Ghibli art.
03:10Not yet.
03:12What about you?
03:13I haven't, I feel it's a lot of a task.
03:15So I will be asking my friends to do it for me.
03:18I am guilty of that.
03:20Yeah, if not, we would take your image and put a Ghibli image of you somewhere here.
03:26Yeah, that would be a good idea.
03:28But I have put on that trend earlier.
03:31It will be a good idea.
03:32I think we can do that.
03:44I told you that this will create a proper competition between artists and this AI culture.
03:50I don't think that, when you are an artist, whatever you get, you do best in that.
03:58So I don't think there is ever competition or somebody can take your place.
04:09When you are good at something, you know how to make your place.
04:14So you make it.
04:16Obstacles and hurdles keep coming.
04:18So we have to face them.
04:20And those who face them, obviously they will grow.
04:23So there is no challenge or competition for anyone when you are best for yourself.
04:47Well, starting, I would say it's very disrespecting to the artist.
04:53As it takes a lot of hard work to create such a masterpiece for themselves and for the whole world to see.
05:00But, I mean, it's a bit demeaning as it takes a lot of effort to make it.
05:05Like, it gives you imagination, your creation, your own creativity to it.
05:10And a hint of his masterpiece takes, like, he has a signature to it.
05:15But doing such thing on just a click away, it's very disrespecting to the whole hard work that he's putting into it.
05:22So I feel it's a little bad for him.
05:26So I don't support it for now.
05:29I would like to agree, but I feel otherwise.
05:31I feel otherwise because I feel the Ghibli, the animated trend has made it into a trend.
05:38It was like a hidden gem. It was not known to most of the people.
05:42So now that it's known to people, so the artist could also take benefits of it.
05:47The artist could make it, like, authentic.
05:51People would be interested in it now that it's known to everyone.
05:55Yes, I think that a lot of people can't afford it.
06:00Basically, the printers or the artists that you have, they will take a huge amount of money for that kind of creation because it takes a lot of time.
06:07It takes a lot of talent to make that kind of art.
06:12So yes, it has become very accessible and comfortable for the common people.
06:18And they can create their dream work.
06:20They want to see their caricatures.
06:22They want to see their memorable moments.
06:24And soft launching is also a trend that is going on.
06:27So that's a good thing.
06:38You cannot compare talent with these things, right?
06:42If I have talent, you have talent.
06:44Definitely, you can open yourself in the market.
06:48So this is not challenging the talent.
06:51Yes, of course, the person who is having talent definitely can grow himself in the market.
06:56So there is no competition between the AI and these talents.
07:01No, I don't think so.
07:03I don't think so because as I said before, the human connection of real art is just something different.
07:12The AI can never create.
07:14Even if you generate a prompt for an AI, they always mess up the fingers.
07:18Or there is just some details that AI can never do which the human can.
07:23And also, if a human paints a painting, it has a certain emotion to it which the AI can never add.
07:29I mean, social media just uses it as a filter.
07:32And I don't feel they actually value the thought of it or what's like the creativity or the idea behind it.
07:38They just feel they look good and they just use it for the sake of it.
07:42There's not much appreciating to the hard work.
07:45So I feel it's just a trend to hop on and nothing else.
07:49I feel that this current trend of AI, AI generated images, Instagram likes, dislikes,
07:56this has shortened our interest span.
07:59Our interest span has shortened to like 15 or 30 minutes or 30 seconds to be precise.
08:03So we won't want to see an art piece and to gaze on it and to find the bigger picture, find the deep meaning behind it.
08:11It would be all too boring.
08:13Like for me also that I would like to watch a 15-second reel and scroll away.
08:17But if I had to be put in a museum to stand there and look at a piece blankly for 30 minutes, one hour,
08:24and to think what would be going through this painter's head when he painted it, that would be too much for me.
08:30So, of course, with this trend of Instagram and AI, it's all getting out of hand.
08:35So we have heard different perspectives about Studio Ghibli.
08:38Where some think that this trend is here to stay, while others think that it is just like any other process trend.
08:44What do you think? Tell us.
