00:00How Solon's reminded the public to take it easy on pulling fast ones or pranks on those who barely eke out a living such as sidewalk vendors, delivery riders, ambulant peddlers, etc.

00:12Likewise, they also warned those spreading fake news after last week's eye-opening hearing where supposedly reputable vloggers were unmasked for their outright lies and conspiracy theories they spread to malt the public.

00:30Don't be deceived. This was the reminder of some lawmakers to the public, not just for April Fool's Day, but more importantly so, for the upcoming 2025 national elections.

00:42According to Kabataan Partylist Representative Raul Manuel, he knows that many people are pulling pranks today, but he hopes they do so in moderation.

00:51As the election day is fast approaching, he also urges Filipinos not to let themselves be fooled by candidates who are unworthy of winning.

00:59April Fool's Day, many are reminding us not to prank those who barely eke out a living, such as delivery drivers, vendors, sellers. That's right.

01:11But on a greater scale, the order of the people is serpicio, not to be fooled. Whether it's April Fool's or not, it's offensive to play with the feelings of Filipinos.

01:26For his part, Surigao del Norte's Second District Representative Robert Ace Barbers has issued a warning against those who continue to spread fake news.

01:34He said the House of Representatives is already working on mechanisms and policies to hold those responsible on these issues accountable.

01:43Those who spread misinformation, disinformation and malinformation, you should stay on April 1.

01:51Don't repeat April 2 until the rest of the days in the year.

01:56If possible, don't be fooled. Don't lie.

02:05Let's change the culture that we should not lie because it's hard for the children to tolerate.

02:12Next week, the House Strike Committee is expected to continue its hearing on fake news.

02:17ACT Teacher's Partylist Representative Franz Castro hopes that officials from META or Facebook will finally attend as they were absent in the previous hearing.

02:26Gabriela Partylist Representative Arlene Brosas also agrees with this.

02:30We should have accountability for the social media platforms that we have.

02:35There should be fact-checking.

02:38We should have digital media education for our countrymen.
